Second Attempt

Thursday night when I got back from the gym, I decided to buzz my hair off again. (See the Vegas trip posts from April for a sample photo.) Went in the bathroom, took the rugs out, got the vacuum ready, got the clippers out, prepped the trash bag, the shower, and got undressed. Started up the clipper, and I took a big chunk out over my right ear. Then the clipper kind of died. The blades just gave out. They would vibrate the hair, not cut it. This is a scary moment. Drastic changes are one thing, but half-way through, it looks pretty scary. I did the only thing I could at that point. I called my ex, Ronny. I asked him to run to the store and buy a new clippers for me. He was still at work (8:30), but left few minutes early to get to WalMart before they closed. He calls from the store to ask if I want the 40, 30, 25, or 15 dollar one. I asked what name the $40 was, and he said W-A-H-L. I said Perfect, get that one. He owed me $50 anyways, so not only did I get a new clippers, but he also gave me $10! It sliced the rest of my hair off like a hot knife through warm butter!

As I mentioned, I did this in April, so this was the second time. Same comb, even (1/8"). This time, however, elicited a much stronger response from a wider array of people. Coworkers at my day job, who would have seen the April version, were shocked! I had not been working at the club at that point, so it was more understandable that the coworkers there were shocked as well. Alex was working security in the back, while I was front door again. After closing, he told me that tons of people were asking him about me; am I single, yadda yadda. He said he kept telling them to talk to me themselves. The only one who did, though, was some annoying little 18 year old asian girl.

Marcelo was there again, as well. He apologized for not calling back last week. He said his phone wasn't working. Yeahhhhh. Whatever. As he was leaving, he gave me a kiss. I asked if I'd get to spend time with him. He said he'd call Saturday. We'll see if that actually happens!

SCB was back. He was with some ugly chick again, so I didn't get a chance to return his shirt. I may end up keeping it, at this rate. Of course, as front door, I don't get to see any of the goings-on, so I can't say if he is still going shirtless most of the night. *sigh*

More strike-outs

I had been in contact with a cute latino on Match, Eli, but he was not good at setting an actual time to meet up. Last week, I sent another message just seeing how things were going, and his reply was one of those "I'm SO busy, you have no idea how busy I am, I am omigod so busy, SO busy." Yeah, I know what that means. I sent a message back saying I was sorry to hear how busy he is, and to gimme a ring when he has time. Have not heard back.

Friday I got a phone number from another Match prospect in the Boston area. Brazilian guy named Marcel. I replied that I'd call over the weekend. That night was pretty dead at the club, but the hunky older guy was there, without his significant other. I tried to be as flirty as I could, but to no avail. He may be the faithful type, so I am not counting it as a full strike-out, but still...

Saturday was much busier, though there were not a lot of good options for me. One cutie, though. Brazilian. Knew Ronny and Junior. His name is Marcelo. He seemed interested, but said he had driven, and had to take his friends home. So, we swapped phone numbers, and he said to call Sunday.

Sunday I went over by Ronny and Junior. Cristiano made a bunch of food, and they had another (smaller) cookout with the neighbors. I called Marcelo, no answer, left a message. I mentioned to Ronny later that he wasn't calling back, and Ronny said he thinks Marcelo is a bottom. Now, why that would make any difference in whether or not he calls back would depend entirely on what other people had told him since we swapped phone numbers. Later that night, still a little wired from being around Junior all day, I called Marcel (the Match one, not Marcelo). We spent about two hours on the phone, and made plans to meet up for lunch on Monday.

Monday I drove to Boston, we spent the afternoon together, had a nice time. But there wasn't much ZING. At the end of the date, we starting 'discussing' what the next step should be. It was getting tedious, so I said that if we were right for each other we wouldn't be talking about it. Nice guy, had a great time, but just not the one for me. And it was mutual. I tried Marcelo again, again to no success. That night I also sent a quick note to David ("the white guy") to see how his trip to PTown was. He replied that he has decided to start a relationship with someone else that he had been seeing. I lost that interview...

I had also called Luther to see what they were up to, and if we could hang out. He didn't answer, I left a message, he didn't call back. Will also called from Colorado, to say he was going to Vegas in October, and asked if I could join him. With my pathetic lack of vacation time, and costs of flights, I don't see that working out. And I got an email from Luis; he is no longer living in Hawaii, so I missed my chance to visit there with a local contact (who had a condo in Waikiki and a Mercedes convertible - how fun would that be!?). And to top it all off, I didn't win the lottery, AGAIN.

Exes Can Be Friends

Friday night was uneventful again. Busier than we have seen on a Friday in a while, but as far as -I- am concerned, it was uneventful.

Saturday afternoon I went into Boston to meet a guy from Match. Make sure you are seated: he's white. And I like him! We did not discuss the top/bottom situation (I still don't think that is necessary first date discussion unless the condoms have already come out of the drawer) so I do not know, but it could be promising! He lives in the South End and walks to work, has a great body, and just is typical South End gay. Without the bitchy attitude... We didn't kiss when I left to go home. I emailed him Sunday to say that we have to next time, and he wrote back that he wanted to, but wasn't sure if I would kiss in public. (In one of the gayest neighborhoods of a gay-friendly city. Hmmmmmm. Let me think...)

Saturday evening Ronny called to ask if I wanted to come along to Six Flags on Sunday. He said Junior and Cristiano, Cristian and Brad were going, too. I said of course. He called back shortly after to say Brad and Cris backed out. That night I went to work, again. Not terribly eventful on Saturday, either. It was actually slower than we have been on a Saturday in a couple weeks. I'm thinking it was because Friday was busy, a lot of them didn't show up twice.

The hunky straight guy from last weekend showed up again. He was alone this time. And he came up to chat, again. I started teasing him about coming to gay clubs, and he asked why I would get mad about it. I said I wasn't mad, I thought it was funny! He kept defending his decision to come there, so I said "Oh, you're just trying to pick me up!" He laughed, and said that was really funny. I was laughing, too. Then he seemed to do a double-take, and said "Oh, I didn't mean it like that. If I were gay, I'd totally go out with you!" The first thought that ran through my mind was about the gay guys in the building that hadn't expressed interest in me...

Sunday morning, I headed over to Ronny's place. It ended up being us two, and Junior and Kevin (Junior's ex). I asked Ronny what their deal was, and he said they were just like us. Point taken. At one point, Kevin made a comment about Junior being mean, and that was why he dumped Junior. Ronny is always calling Junior heartless, too. But I had also gotten the impression from Ronny that Junior was the dumper, not the dumpee.

We stopped for food over by the Superman ride (which was closed for the day, dammit), and Ronny said he was so used to doing everything with Brad and Cris that he kept looking around to find them. I laughed and said Kevin and Junior were "our substitute Brad and Cris". I didn't mean it in a disparaging way, but Kevin got a tiny bit of an offended look on his face.

All in all, we had a great time. It was really the first time I'd gotten to know much of anything about Kevin. He is a really nice guy. Totally not my type, though. He's more of the muscley/stocky bald quasi-daddy type build. Lots of people find that attractive, but as you already know, I have a thing for Junior. Junior is apparently after one of the other Brazilians, Adriano (Ronny's boss). Ronny is DEAD set against it, Kevin thinks it's a great idea. He even said that while they were still together he thought Adriano would be a good choice for Junior. So, Ronny said it was a bad idea because they were both tops. Kevin said that can still work out, so I said those relationships usually end up doing a lot of 3-ways. He agreed. And mentioned he's versatile, and doesn't understand how someone couldn't enjoy both. I said that is the same as saying you can't understand why someone is gay. I also said I only like one side. Kevin asked which side, and Ronny said No Need To Ask That. So, I dodged. Kevin asked if I at least Tried both, and I said yes. He seemed OK with that. It's like your mom making you 'at least try your vegetables'!

Of course, we went on the white water rafting ride, and there is a big handle bar in front of each seat for everyone to hold onto. I said "ooh now this would be a fun ride!" And Kevin immediately said "Well, that answers THAT question!"

There were a good number of hotties there, too. One gorgeous Brazilian, a surprising number of hot dads, and an uber-hot muscle-jock young hottie. Knowing a foreign language is good for discretely ogling hot guys while in line at Six Flags... I knew enough Portuguese to follow, and even contribute! There was another hottie there that I am convinced is Brazilian. He was in a bright pink shirt, there with some mildly homey, very Brazilian looking girl. And they were making out NON-STOP through the entire wait in line. But I swear I made eye contact with him several times.

And the ride operator at Scream! was a total stand-in for Elijah Kelley (scroll down a few posts to the "Seaweed" one) so I enjoyed the three times we rode that one!

Nada

As I mentioned briefly, Saturday held disappointment on the Angel front. Junior was there, even though he said he had to get up at 6am to work, then stopped by the front desk, and just kind of stood there. I don't know what he's thinking...

They (Junior, Ronny, Cristiano) had invited me over to their place Sunday afternoon. The neighbors (Brazilian) were having a party, and they were joining in. I assumed this meant that it would be like a joint party. I was the only guest on their side. Though, Ronny said Cris was coming later. The neighbors are straight, so it was all hetero-zilians. Hot. Hot. Hot... You probably know I have a tendency to be drawn to the straight boys, and that I am drawn to the exotic. So, let's just say there were PLENTY of guys there I was attracted to!

But I had to leave at 4:30 to go to work again. They had another cabaret show at the club, so I was working register. Register closed around 8:30, but I had to stay there until Mattie got done bussing, so he could cover front door. So, I finished around 10:30. (My drawer was dead on, but I didn't realize that I was supposed to start tracking attendance at 9pm.) At about 10:15 Luther and Keniah showed up, so I stayed after to hang out with them a little bit. Luther and I danced a bit. We got drinks. Laughed. Chatted. Luther saw a cute latino boy, and asked if he was my type. I of course said yes. Next thing I know Keniah is saying hello to him in order to introduce me to him (another Carlos). He had that looking off in the distance (in the other direction) look on his face that implied he was not interested. After he finished his drink, he said he had to go to the bathroom, and walked off. On his way back from the restroom, he just headed straight out the door, without a glance or word of any kind. Again, I can not catch a break.

Keniah got a little strange and wandered off on his own (as is fairly typical), so Luther and I were talking alone. There is a spark of interest there (very very dark, for those of you wondering). So, in between a few "I'm married" comments, he made some suggestive remarks. The realist in me, however, does realize that nothing will happen.

How do I know that? Because that is the way it always works. Carlos was interested, but nothing happened. Junior was interested, but nothing happened. Angel was interested, but nothing happened. Even SCB appears interested, but nothing will happen (I tried!). The guys I've met on Match all fizzle out, as well. I am trying, but nobody is willing to actually have sex with me! The closest I got on Saturday, for example, was some hunky straight guy who likes the low-stress of the gay club for having drinks, and thought I was hysterical. Not gonna help. *Sigh*

Jinx

I did jinx it, dammit. It is true; Angel didn't call back on purpose. Me with him is not going to happen.

Saturday night, he came to the club. He was with his ex. The mutual restraining order ex. Holding hands.

I just can NOT catch a break...

Prelude

While talking to Angel on Monday, he said Wednesday he was busy, but he would see what he could work out, and would call me Tuesday to let me know when we could meet up. Tuesday, no call. Wednesday, no call. Thursday, still no call. So, I called him. No answer, so I left a message. He has not yet called back. Meanwhile, my A/C went completely dead Tuesday evening, so my place was uncomfortably warm Thursday (we had near 90 and soggy humidity levels). Since Angel wasn’t calling back, I tried Ronny, to see if I could hang out at his place. He worked until 9, so we agreed to meet at his house then.

I beat him home, since he stopped to chat with a friend first. Junior was home, though, so he let me in. Talked with him until Ronny showed up. I had mentioned Monday’s phone conversation with Angel to Ronny, so he asked how things were with the “new boyfriend”. Junior’s ears perked way up. I said one phone conversation hardly makes him a “boyfriend” and Junior heartily agreed. I asked Junior about the SCB, nothing really happened, and Junior doesn’t even know his name. I mentioned I found his shirt on the dancefloor. I reiterated that I had offered to come over that night, but Junior said no. He was like “the guy was too drunk anyway,” so I just said “but I could have given him the shirt back.” He didn’t believe that was my motive. I said I still have it at home, so I’ll have to invite SCB over to my place the next time I see him. Junior seemed suspicious, and asked “for the shirt??” I said of course. Nish had pointed out the tendency for Brazilians to react more strongly to envy, and it seemed to be true here. Junior was suddenly much more engaging with me. The perfect icing on that cake was Ronny saying something about me being interested in Junior, and I got to look at Junior, then turn to Ronny and say “well, he just wants to be friends.” Later, I helped delete a random program from Ronny’s computer, so Junior asked if I could fix his computer’s audio. He had no sound coming through the speakers. First, I noticed the speaker wasn’t plugged in properly (no power, no sound!), but also eventually realized that his hardware was switched to the additional sound card output, but he was still plugging into the main motherboard output. As soon as I moved the plug, everything worked great. When I was heading out to go home, he thanked me for fixing the computer, and gave me a hug. A very full-on, lingering, affectionate hug. And I got invited to their little cookout on Sunday. (I work at 4:45, but the party starts at 2, so I can stop by for a bit.)

At this point, I’m already starting to think it’s over with Angel. I’ve been dumped before even starting on several occasions, and I still don’t understand how one great conversation can be the prelude to complete avoidance, but I’m used to it. I work front door at the club, now, though, so I see everyone. I’m sure I’ll get a “I’m sorry, I was SO busy” at some point. But, usually, many things are postponable if you are truly interested in meeting someone.

And, Friday morning the moron contractors were back, and got the A/C running. I’m still not convinced it’s “fixed” but it is running. A little cleaning and adjusting, and I will be ready to re-list. The Fed just lowered the discount rate (Prime is still steady), which might help spark better housing market activity. Please…

Start of something

We spent like two hours on the phone last night. Mostly chatty, historical info. Got a few flirty comments in. And I was witness to a brief conversation he had with his roommate about condom size. I started getting all hot and bothered... :) Oh, and he's part Puerto Rican. Not Brazilian at all!

Tonight the switch in my AC completely fried, so in additional to poorly functioning, I can't turn it on at all anymore. It's probably about 3 weeks until it will be cool enough to not hate my lack of AC. I have calls in about getting it repaired, but it's not going well. That is also preventing me from re-listing. Ughhh.

Saturday

Well, after the sartorial excitement from Friday, you would think Saturday couldn't possibly be more exciting. You would be mistaken.

The previously mentioned AJ stopped by again. Unfortunately, his ex got there first, and since they have matching restraining orders, he couldn't exactly come in. But he said he would catch up with me again somehow. I was like, "somehow??" He said he has his methods. I replied, "Well, couldn't you just ask me for my phone number?" He blushed a little and said it was awkward. "Awkward?? Are you single??" "Yes." "Then why would it be awkward to get someone's phone number?" Brief pause, phone comes out, buttons get pushed, and he gets my phone number! I had him ring me back right away, so I got his, too. He saw my phone, and rather excitedly said, "Oh you are Verizon, too! We can talk all we want!" (My heart skipped a little beat!) He said he'd call. I asked when. (I know, subtle...) He said probably Sunday. About 2am he called, was heading for breakfast with some friends. I still needed like 5 more minutes, so he just said good night. (Damn envelopes! If I had gotten one earlier, I'd have been all cashed out by then.)

Of course, Sunday came and went, without a call. I will call tonight (Monday).

Junior was there, as well. He left with a "friend". Ronny said they were probably hooking up. Whatever. But, as Junior left, he leaned over to give me a kiss goodnight (social style, not make-out style). Then said "See you tomorrow!" I was like "What? What's tomorrow??" He just rolled his eyes, gave an oh-please look, and said "I will see you tomorrow."

Sunday, though, I had plans. Went to a cookout at Joe & Vinnie's. Played poker all afternoon. Didn't hear from any of the Brazilians, so did not end up at Ronny's house. So, I did not see Junior on Sunday. It dawned on me that maybe part of why he switched from being interested to not so much was because I was over at his house too much. I was there because of Ronny, but still, I was around an awful lot. No chase needed. (I've been told some people are all about the chase. I'm not, so I have to remind myself that some people consider that 'fun' instead of 'annoying'.) Maybe I need to back away from the social visits to make him miss me... :)

At said poker/cookout, it was all club employees. The restraining order scenario came up, and it appears as though I misheard the name over the thump of the bass. It sounded like they said his name is actually Angel, not AJ. (A latino name. Pretend to be shocked.) I'll have to clarify, but I'm assuming they can't all be wrong. I didn't bring it up, myself, though, because I don't want them to all know about it, yet. (Vicious harpies!)

Shirtless

Friday afternoon I was doing some laundry (including the work shirts for this weekend), when the club owner called. He wanted to know if I could come in early and cover the front door. I was scheduled for smoking area, which means I start at 10, but to cover register, I need to start about 8:45. I said sure. Then he suggested we make this permanent. My first thought was that they fired the other guy, but I didn't ask. He pulled up my file, and said I was already making what they would pay the doorman, but he said he'd bump me a dollar an hour anyway, effective immediately. So, last Saturday I covered door for the first time, and now that's my permanent assignment.

When I got in to work, I checked the schedule, and I was already down for next weekend, too, including the cabaret show on Sunday afternoon. That was the start of the 'oh shit' feeling. This is turning from spending a few hours getting paid to be at the club instead of dancing, into tying up my weekends.

Covering door was not as much fun this time, since I didn't have a cute guy hanging out chatting with me the whole time. But, I did get to see a lot of cute guys walking toward the straight bar next door! One of which was the SCB, with a bunch of straight guy friends. Apparently, they all went home early, though, because later in the evening SCB showed up at the club, by himself. He was already a little drunk (this is important), and walked in without paying, so I had to hunt him down, drag him back up front, and get the money from him. He was already shirtless by this point. It was the first time I'd seen him there without the (flaming) gay Brazilian friends he hangs out with while there.

Junior also came, by himself. He stopped by to ask if he could borrow my phone. I said sure, it would cost him a kiss. He gave a 'ha-ha' look and used my phone to call his roommate (Cristiano). When he gave the phone back, I asked for my kiss. Unfortunately, he reacted not with a 'ha-ha very funny' look, but with a 'oh God now what do I do' look.

Cristiano showed up a little later. I said hi, and he went off to go dancing. A little while later, one of the bartenders pokes his head around the corner and asks me to keep an eye on the drunk passed out on the couch. It was SCB, in a very sloppy state, and with none of his friends there. Eventually, he started - uh - gurgling a bit, so they got a lot more anxious about getting him off the couch. They ended up with Cristiano and Junior trying to get him up and functioning. (Junior even said to me, "I know him, but he's not a friend of mine". I know that, too. The only other Brazilian there that night was under-21, so I doubt he wanted to get involved in a drunk problem.) Junior had to practically carry the guy out to Cristiano's car. I noticed they didn't bring his shirt. Junior said they were taking him back to their place to clean him up and get him a little more sober. I said "Oh, should I come over later??" I think he got the joke. I don't know how he interpreted it, though.

The bartender insisted they only served him one beer. He really was not that far in the bag when he showed up, but it's not worth arguing about. They were short-handed security last night, so after the lights came on, I was the only one left, so even though front-door does not have cleaning responsibilities, I got them by default. So, I tacked another 15 minutes onto my timecard! And, while sweeping up the dance floor, I found SCB's shirt! So, I took it home! I think it is just beyond amusing that after ogling the shirtless confused Brazilian for all this time, I've ended up with his shirt! I did offer to stop by Junior's last night, and could have returned the shirt to him, but they didn't seem interested in my offer...

Seaweed

I went to see Hairspray the other day. Loved it! I do think the original had a stronger energy, though this one has a much broader appeal. And I couldn't stop thinking of John Travolta as John Travolta in drag, despite his efforts to 'become' Edna Turnblad.

But the best part of the movie was the part of Seaweed, played by Elijah Kelley. Brad and I were both transfixed through the whole movie on him! And a few minutes after being introduced to him, we get his song about wanting to do black guys! "The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice" is fun, but I have had "the darker the chocolate, the richer the taste" stuck in my head ever since!

Weekend Update

Last weekend seemed trivial, so I didn't post anything. The club was packed on Saturday (one of the DJ's had his BDay party there), but nothing happened to me...

I was wrong. In retrospect, there was one little glimmer of eventfulness. The BDay boy was there with this other guy. Dark skinned, tight body, looked too young, and appeared to be the DJ's bf. So, I didn't think much of it, other than, he's kinda cute, but not gonna happen.

This weekend, Friday was dead. There were like 5 people on the dance floor at the most over the course of the evening (3 of which were my brazilian friends!). The SCB was there again; not shirtless again (dammit), but quite friendly, more gayish, and he put his arm around me twice! The hunky older couple was there again, too, so I smiled as cute as I could, and said hello. I bolted at 2:15 because I had to be at work (day job) for a little bit at 9:30; turned into two hours. Ughhh.

Saturday night was my first night as front door. Mike usually works the register, but had a party to go to, so I was filling in. (I was only off by one $5 admission, and it was overrung, so they're not gonna care!) It was not as busy as last Saturday's BDay event, but almost. I was SO busy. (I helped Mike last weekend because we knew it would be busy; I had no such scheduled help.) Which is great for the club, but trial by fire was not what I wanted for my first night on register.

Of course, nobody shows up before 11:30, so from 9pm until then, it was very quiet. The other security guy came up and was chatting for a while. The alleged DJ bf showed up, and he was talking with the security guy at my desk, so we all were chatting together. A little later, the security guy wandered off to secure things, and the alleged bf stayed to talk with me. His name is AJ. I asked if he is "with" the DJ, and he kind of demurred and dodged and said not really, "he's just Patrick and I'm just AJ". But there was enough tension around the comment that I know there's Something there. I also discovered that he is 32 - not too young! As we chatted, he mentioned some lousy things an ex did to him, so I slipped in a "well I wouldn't do that if I were your boyfriend" comment. I believe he caught the implication!

I slipped a few more subtle (well, OK, not THAT subtle) flirty lines in throughout the conversation. As business spiked in the 11:30 / 12:30 range, he helped me out by putting the wristbands on people as I rang them in. (I hugged him several times and mentioned I should buy him a drink or take him to breakfast or something, but he said not necessary.) About one o'clock he wandered off to have a few drinks and socialize. But he came back a couple times to say hello. At the end of the evening, as we were pushing people out the door, he stopped by again. At one point he pulled out his cellphone and started texting someone. I took advantage of the opportunity! Waited a couple seconds, then leaned over and said "OH. I thought you were going to ask for my phone number!" with a cute little smile. He paused, smiled, and said "in time. I know where to find you." Like I said, I know there's Something up with the other guy yet, even though (like Junior) he won't say they are together.

In addition to that, the hunky older couple was there again, I got some serious eye contact wink-wink in at the door. The darker one has an accent (yea, say you're surprised....) and had that look in his eye that he realized I was interested.

And Luther and Keniah were there. Luther told me I shouldn't be working there; I don't need the money, and I can't party if I'm working. He complained I can't dance with them, but the last time I was there off-duty, they were there as well, but they didn't dance with me at all. Luther also complained that I haven't emailed him lately, but that was because the last time I emailed to say we should hang out sometime, his response was "well of course, we'll see you at the club!" I took that as a brush-off...

Junior was there with some out of town friends. I got a good hug in, and said we need to meet up sometime to catch a movie or dinner. He said again I am free to come over any time. I do still really like him!

At one point, there was another group of Brazilians that I am not friends with (yet?) smoking outside the front door. A friend of theirs joined them. Very cute, red shirt, seemed a little bit like trying to sneak in without paying. So, I was keeping an eye on him. And not minding... At the end of the night, he was one of the last ones out the door, and he stopped to tell me that he noticed I was checking him out earlier, and started trying to make out with me. I kissed him back, but didn't get too involved, because it was right in front of the (glass) doors, and I needed to get him out of the building (regulations, fire codes, all that fun work kind of stuff).

I was confined to the front door all night, but had a lot of fun! I was sipping a stoli ras and sprite all night. Eddie made it for me (the bartender who has a crush on me), and said when he makes Mike drinks for the front door, Mike tips him really well. So, at the end of the night, I gave Eddie a 5. He tried to give it back, and said he was just kidding. Mike pays him well as hush-money, not tips. I waved it off and told him to keep it. (Technically I would need to be paying hush-money, too.)

We'll see if any of this turns into something useful!

Goin wireless

As you may recall (see below), Junior still needed assistance going wireless. We scheduled tentative plans for Sunday, though when I asked for a specific time, he just said he would call me. I had to work Sunday at 4:30, so it needed to be earlier, but he was off playing soccer with some friends, so Sunday didn’t work. He said he worked until 5 on Monday, so he would call me Monday evening.
Monday he called around 6, I went and picked him up. We ran to Best Buy, then installed the USB wireless in the back port on his computer. We went to the Brazilian barbecue place for dinner afterwards, since I needed to use up the gift cert Ronny had given me for my birthday. This all gave us plenty of time to chat. I avoided topics relating to current relationship status, to keep from pushing him too much where he already said he doesn’t want to go.
I asked if he had fun at the club on Saturday (I said hello that night, but we didn’t talk beyond that) and which of the strippers he preferred. There was a white one, and a black one. He (predictably) liked the white one more. I (predictably) liked the black one more. He seemed surprised. I was not expecting him to be quite that surprised, but took advantage of the opportunity to point out that I like darker guys. I gave an appropriate sideways glance (sideways because I was driving at the time) to go along with the comment, which he caught.
He asked me about why I am selling my condo, and want to move. I went through the quick version of the whole story. I mentioned I have friends off in San Diego, SanFran, Denver, Portland (any day now), and how I want to move west. He said I have a lot of friends here in Worcester, and I shouldn't leave. How sweet... I said that Brad made the same comment. Of course, Brad said he also wouldn't mind visiting me in San Diego!
I also asked him a little about his soccer game from Sunday. Cristiano and Carlos were there, apparently, but mostly it was more of a league type thing. Junior said it was “all straight guys”. I replied, “well except for Carlos!” The quip eventually led to Junior saying he had a girlfriend when he first came to the US. I asked him how much he likes girls, yet. He said that he prefers guys but that having sex with girls makes him feel happier. I got a confused / disappointed look on my face, and he said yeah, it’s hard to explain, and Kevin was always rather bothered by that comment, as well.
So, it was a very interesting evening. And as I dropped him off after dinner, he said to feel free to come over any time I wanted. Though, if we're sticking to the "just friends" meme, I think I would still be more likely to randomly visit Ronny than Junior.

Ouch

It was a slow night tonight (Friday) at work. Not a huge crowd, but enough people showed up, I guess. Junior showed up around midnight, by himself. He stopped by to chat. I asked where Cristiano was, and Junior said he was not back from work yet. Eventually, I decided to come out and ask what was on my mind. I asked if he was single. He was like "what do you mean?" I said Ronny had made it sound like Junior and Kevin had broken up, Junior said they did break up, but they're still kind of together. Then he looked at me and asked why I was asking about it. I said that I was pretty sure he knew that I liked him. His response was that he thinks we should just be friends.

He went on to say something about Kevin. I guess they are trying to make it work out. He said that if it is over with Kevin, then he wants to not have a boyfriend for a while. I completely understand. And, awww crap.

SCB showed up, as well. He was not shirtless this time, and not with any girls. He was being particularly friendly with me. Of course, fate always makes things difficult for me, so the point at which he seemed to make the closest thing to a "move" a confused, getting drunker, possibly-bi guy could make, I got dragged off to clean up a busted beer bottle off the dance floor. He left early.

Then Cristiano showed up. He's always been very flirty, but is that way with everyone. I chatted with him briefly. At one point we sort of danced in the hallway I was guarding. Later, he stopped by again, and danced a little bit. As he was about to leave, he leaned in and kissed me. Nothing major, friendly little closed-lip peck, but right on the mouth. I was a little taken by surprise, but not actually surprised. Oh well.

A few minutes later, Junior comes over. "Cristiano said he kissed you!" I was like, uhhh, wellllll, yeahhhhh. And shrugged. Junior seemed a little beer-tipsy. There was a hint of indignation that was not consistent with the let's-be-friends attitude.

The fat underage kid was there again, as well. He said Hi, but kept his hands to himself. I went out of my way to be polite, but keep it at the "I'm just being as friendly to you as I would to any customer" level. Hopefully, that problem will no longer be a problem.

New eye candy tonight, as well. Hunky, thuggish blatino. Returned all my gracious acknowledgments. Also under 21. And smokes. Not a lot, but Smokes. Sigh...

Six Flags for Seven Fags

Monday was the staff day trip to Six Flags from the club. There ended up being seven of us going. We took two vehicles, didn't get lost, waited WAY too long to get in, but had a lot of fun.

The owner decided to buy us fast-passes, so we got to go on a lot of rides. Well, those of us that went on rides got to go on a lot of them. The one kid was afraid of heights, and didn't go on much after the Buzzsaw. Kind of a boring ride, unless you are sitting next to someone having FITS because they are so terrified. Then it's hysterical!!

They have a Coldstone Creamery there, so a couple of us stopped for ice cream at the end of the night. Probably the longest line we waited in... There was this little Chinese girl working, who was having a REALLY hard time scooping the ice cream, or mixing in the toppings. The other guy was not much faster. And every time someone entered, the girl at the register would holler out "Welcome to Coldstone!" and then interrupt the CHinese girl to ask how to say that in Chinese...

One of the major surprises of the day was the bumper cars. There is a big divider in the middle of the room, and you have drive in left-turn loops (it's like Nascar!). When everyone has to go the same direction, it is a LOT harder to create the free-form havok that makes bumper cars fun in the first place. They announce that head-on collisions are forbidden. At one point there was this 8-year-old girl who got stuck going the wrong way because she was just tall enough to operate it on her own, but was not doing well. The operator was on the mic the whole time yelling at her to turn around. I imagine a law-suit somewhere has ended the purpose of bumper cars. It's a shame...

The other big surprise was the recorded announcement at "Superman" now includes a section saying you must have 2 legs, one arm, and enough strength to hold on, and people with prosthetic limbs or immovable casts are prohibited from riding. Again, I can just picture the lawsuit that led to this insanity.

Striking Out

Saturday was Brad's birthday party. I was not scheduled to work (wuhoo) so I went to that, and we had fun. Around 11:30 most of us headed over to the club to go dancing. Largely the Brazilians, again.

My complaints about nobody being interested sometimes need the disclaimer that nobody I would consider is ever interested. Last night was a good example. There was this FAT under-21 kid there who knows Cristiano/ Adriano/ Marcio and came over and started dancing with me. At first I was playing along since he was a friend of theirs, but then he was humping my leg, grinding what felt like a boner against me, trying to grab my crotch and shove my hands down his pants. So, I had to switch to "I'm just dancing in my own little world" mode and turn very cold. He did catch on, but didn't exactly give up, either.

Shirtless Confused Brazilian was there again. Friday I saw him as well; he was clothed the whole time, and hanging all over this unattractive girl all night. (Not the same girl as the somewhat homely one from last week.) Saturday, he was more shirtless and more confused again. Dancing with the gay guys he hangs out there with, came alone, met up with ugly chick (who appears to be fag hag material), but ended up dancing a lot with a different almost-pretty girl. I said hi and got a couple eye-contact moments, but I am not expecting anything.

Carlos showed up, as well. He gave me a kiss-kiss hello, but didn't speak to me all night. I mostly ignored him. Then I made the mistake of joining in at one point when he was dancing with Junior, and he basically pushed me away. Not sure what the deal is, but can't worry about it anymore.

Junior and Kevin were both at the party, and at the club. I am still not sure what their status is. They were acting more like friends; I never saw them touch each other, and they spent the whole party separated. That isn't terribly unusual, though, since the English speakers and the Portuguese speakers have a tendency to segregate anyway. I asked Junior if he wanted to go to Best Buy on Sunday, and he said they were going to the beach (Junior, Kevin, Cristiano, and Ronny). I still spend a fair amount time with Ronny, so I can't say one way or the other what it means...

The hunky older darker guy with a husband that I had mentioned before was there, both nights, as well. Friday he was alone and I said hello. Saturday he was there with the hubby. At one point the hubby (white guy, comes across a little bit not too bright) came over and started talking to me. He asked if I go to the same gym, and I said yes, I've seen them, too. I mentioned I had met them a long time ago at a BBQ party, and he seemed to remember which party I was talking about. The darker guy was not there at the time, though, so I didn't actually get to talk to him. The one I was talking to said his "boyfriend" was in the bathroom. I'm guessing he was more likely having a cigarette. (I've seen him around, and know he takes much longer to have a smoke than to go to the bathroom. When your job is to stand in the corner and keep an eye on the smoking area and the bathrooms, there are certain things you can't help but notice.) If they suggested a three-way, though, I think I'd go for it.

Just to make the night complete, Luther and Keniah were there, too. Said hello, chatted briefly with Keniah. Luther was flirty as always, but not serious, as always.

Then, the ugly fag hag chick that hangs out with SCB came over and asked my name, then said she had a friend that wanted to meet me. (This is the point I figured out she's a fag hag!) My heart skipped a beat. Unfortunately, she was talking about a different friend than I was imagining. I was not so much at all interested in the friend she turned to. I have no idea what he said at any point. After a minute or two, it turned to resigned silence, so I walked away.

Came home alone again. I know you're not surprised.

Wireless

Ronny called Thursday night to ask for my help setting up his internet connection. The cable guy had just installed the modem, but Ronny couldn't get the wireless to work. (His previous DSL connection used a single combo unit that had modem and router in the same little box, so he was confused that the little box wasn't working wirelessly.)

He was still finishing up at work when he called, and I had to go to the gym, yet. He said he'd call when he got home and I could come over and help set it up. He then said it would be a chance to see Junio again. I mentioned the pre-existing BF, and Ronny said that Junio has no boyfriend. I asked for clarification and was told that they broke up a couple weeks ago. I mentioned that Kevin was there at Junio's birthday party, and it looked like they were still together. Ronny said they were still friends, and had not told people, yet, so were still putting on the show of being together.

I went to the gym and ogled a couple cuties, then came home and showered. I had a spare wireless router lying around, so I brought that over to Ronny's house. I had him do the install himself, though I helped out a lot. He has been doing a lot of tech support stuff for his other Brazilian friends, and I've been pushing him to learn to do some of this stuff on his own. Basically, install stuff amounts to following the instructions on the screen, so mostly I had to make him slow down enough to follow the instructions. We got it all set up, but Ronny was the only one home. He said to just wait a bit, Junio would be home soon. I had a donut and he turned on the TV.

About 10:30 Junio came home. He's looking a little darker, as well, as the summer progresses, and was quite sexy as he walked in the door... Explained we were setting up internet, and he assumed that his would just 'work' now, too. I had him turn his computer on, and I checked his network connection settings, and he has no wireless card. He said he would buy one this weekend, so I suggested I come along to make sure he gets the right one. He seemed to like that idea!

We all hung out, chatted, looked at pictures, and Ronny got his Itunes back up and running again. I asked Junio how Kevin is doing. He said he's fine, in fact he just saw him on Tuesday. So, I asked if he stays over at Kevin's, or if Kevin stays here. I figured this was a subtle way of opening the door for him to say they were no longer together. He responded that he stays at Kevin's because Kevin lives alone, like me. Not sure if there was a "reason" to specify the 'like me' part... Junio also went to the trouble of showing me pics - somewhat buried in his computer files - of the previous ex whom he still pines for. I've seen the guy around the club, and Ronny has even tried to hook up with him.

All of a sudden I noticed it was midnight! I had an A/C contractor coming in at 8am, so wasn't going to work in the morning and could sleep in a little later than usual, but midnight was still pushing it, so I said goodnight. Junio said he would call on Saturday after work about going to the store. I suggested I give him my phone number. Then he gave me his number, and when I verified the spelling of his name, discovered I have been doing it wrong. His name is Jose, but so is his father, so he is a Junior, and has adopted the name. (Technically, the Portuguese version would be Junho, not Junio, anyway.) So, he really is an American sounding name, kind of like Ronny is, too. From now on, he will be referred to as Junior. Of course, with the "H" sound that the Portuguese "R" has, it doesn't sound that much different.

Stranded

Saturday night was Junio's birthday party. It was a lot of fun, and everybody from that crowd that I know was there. Including Carlos (flaky one). He was in his summer color - a deep, rich mahogany. He apparently works for a construction company, and spends a lot of time outside.

During the party, he came over and said he wanted to stay at my house that night. I said sure! He then clarified, in my bed, with me. I again said definitely. At one point, a bunch of us were sitting on the back balcony chatting, and Carlos came over, and sat next to me. The chair really was only big enough for one, so we were very close! He even leaned across my lap, and was holding me.

Then we all headed to the club, and he turned into total flake again. I think he doesn't want anyone to think of him as unavailable, so he won't hang around any one specific person for more than a couple minutes. So, I grabbed his butt a couple times, but generally treated him as someone to just say Hi to.

Around 1:30, I noticed I didn't see Carlos around anymore. When we all left, he was not there. I mentioned to Adriano that he should yell at Carlos for me the next time he sees him, for leaving without saying goodnight. Adriano said that Carlos left with Junio and Cristiano (around 1:30...). Perfect. I got stood up!

Nish suggested I find someone else to hook up with. I pointed out that 2:05am was not the optimal time to do that. SCB was there, again, as shirtless and confused as ever. I actually said Hi to him when he came in. He was very friendly and butch. Spent the whole night with some girl. And, as typical, she was kinda homely. (I have noticed, through my years at the gym, that steroid freaks go for inflatable girlfriends {nose job, lipo, huge implants, massive tanning-bed time, and lots of bottled blonde} and the hotties always have these plain jane girlfriends who are just a little heavy and just a little homely. Not sure how that happens, but I'm guessing the plain janes perfect their blowjob technique in order to compete.) So, SCB was there, but gazing into female eyes.

So, I came home alone. As always... Sunday I met up with Nish for breakfast at IHOP, and was supposed to meet up with LBB that afternoon. I haven't had a chance to have "the talk" with him, yet, and he's not cluing in to the 2 weeks since I last saw him meaning that I'm just not that interested. But LBB had just gotten home from the cape, and didn't want to drive anymore. I had no interest in going to Rhode Island since I was just gonna break up with him, but told him I was still a little wiped out from not sleeping well cuz I had a cold last week. (Somewhat true, but not really.)

He rather disappointedly agreed to meet up later this week. I immediately called Ronny to see what they were up to. Adriano had also mentioned that night that Junio was going to invite everyone over again Sunday to eat up the TONS of left-over food. I ended up buying some ice cream and heading over there. Nobody else showed up, though, so I just hung out with Ronny and Junio, and Cristiano (who kept going to his room for a while, but was around mostly). Ronny has a new boyfriend from NYC, who had just left to go back home. Junio's bf was not around, and I didn't ask. But Ronny said he is going to make it his goal to get Junio available and interested in me. I hope that doesn't turn into a mess, but whatever. His bf does not really associate with anyone else in that crowd, so if Junio ends that relationship and rather quickly starts one up with me, nobody in my group will probably care.

I Just Wanna Dance

I had taken off from working at the club this weekend. Nish called Thursday and said he will be in town this weekend (at least Friday, maybe Saturday), and wanted to go out. So, Friday night we met up about 10:30 and went to the townie bar for a drink. My friend Rick was bartending, so I got to say hi to him. We chatted a bit. He invited me to come along with him to an arena football game Saturday. I declined. Aside from having plans this evening, I wasn't sure I could see myself enjoying that. I told him to let me know if he has any gay plans one of these weekends!

Then we headed over to the club. Joe acted all mad at me again for taking the night off. Eddie seemed even more pissy about it, for reasons I am completely unaware. I had called Brad earlier, but he didn't call back, so I was not sure anyone would be there. Luckily, they were! Brad and Cris, and Kevin and Junio, along with other friends and roommates were all there. Even some straight girls they know. (Cris acts very differently around straight people. It's one of things that annoys Brad.)

I had a couple drinks, and got into that happy, fun mood. Nish had one more than I did (according to him), and was getting a little swirly. Good thing I drove! It was a fun night, and I already Joe that Saturday is a birthday party for one of the Brazilians, and we will probably all end up there later. He's already getting grumpy about it!! The one drawback to working there is that on nights all my friends are there, I can't dance if I'm working. So, I got to dance again last night. It was a lot of fun, and I don't really care that some of the staff is grouchy!

The schedule for next weekend only has me down for Friday night. There's another birthday party in the works, so guess where we'll probably end up! But this was just the way it scheduled out, I didn't request the night off, so they can't be mad!!

Not the Date I expected

I had plans to meet up with this Cuban/Puerto Rican guy from Match, on Sunday. I drove into Boston, we went to lunch. Had a nice enough time, but he was a little too swishy. Not that I have anything against that, but it does tend to indicate Big o' Bottom. After lunch we were walking back towards Mass Ave, and he's like "so your car is this way?" He ended the 'date' after lunch, to meet up with some friends. I am guessing that means he wasn't inspired either. So, no harm, I guess.

On the drive back to Worcester (between gas and tolls that was one expensive lunch), I called Ronny to see if he was all moved in at his new place. He moved out of his sister's house, and in with some friends. Cristiano and Junio, to be exact. Ronny said he was all moved in, and I should come visit. So, I headed over there, and we were hanging out. Junio was home, with a friend whose name I don't remember - he was not cute. We all watched "Step Up" - solely because Channing Tatum is so hot. But Ronny kept leaving, and sitting in his room. He said he was on the phone with his mother, and then sisters. I have convinced him to do most of his Brazil calling on weekends to keep his cell charges to a minimum, so I guess that was all right.

After the movie, the ugly friend left, and Junio and I were left alone in the living room. About 8 seconds later, their friend Adriano showed up. He had just come back from Brazil, and brought Ronny a gift. (He specifically requests them from people who go on trips, so he actually always gets them!) We all chatted for a while, then I mentioned I was hungry, and we ordered pizza. Ronny doesn't much care for pizza, so Junio also made rice and chicken for Ronny. When the pizza came (bacon, onion, corn, and heart of palm - it was really quite good), I just took pizza. I had chipped in for the pizza, I hadn't contributed to the food they made. Junio insisted that pizza is "junk food" and I had to have some of the "real food" with them. The chicken was exceptionally tasty and tender, and Brazilian rice is always quite good, if not a little too salty. But Junio is not as salt-crazed as Ronny, so his rice was pretty good for me!

After Adriano left, I was alone on the couch with Junio again for a while. Then Ronny came out of his room again (another sister to call), and we all talked some more. I left there about midnight. Ronny kept telling me that Junio is about to break up with his bf, and he was not-so-subtly trying to push us toward each other. We both know we are interested in each other, but the bf thing is still in the way.

I thought I was going to have a great Sunday on a date with a 'Rican, but I ended up with more of a date with Junio. I don't mind, I guess!

Dream bonus

I wasn't really feeling that well on Saturday, so I took some Nyquil before heading off to bed. Around 10am, I woke up. I should have gone to the gym at that point, but felt kind of crappy, yet, so just went back to sleep.

As I drifted back into dreamworld, I ended up meeting Cris at a park. We said hello, and I asked how he and Brad were doing. He said not well. They were arguing about money. (This is my dream, but there are come cues that my mind picked up out of reality...) Eventually, he ended up lying crosswise across me, and I was consoling him. I held his head in one hand, stroking the side of face, while running my other hand across his lower abdomen, right over his jeans.

Eventually, I felt soft, fleshy somethin' bumping up against my hand. As I continued to stroke his abdomen, it became less soft and fleshy, and more long and firm. My hand shifted focus, we started kissing, and the next thing I know, we're gettin' it on.

It has been quite some time since I've had a fun sex dream, and also a long time since I have been dreaming about Cris. I guess the underlying reason for the dream is that I am so ready to be in a relationship again. Any takers???
