Besides That

I already posted the big news of the weekend. Isn't it pretty!!

Friday night I worked, again. Was hoping hottie John would stop in, since he ditched last Saturday, but he did not make an appearance this weekend, either.

At one point, I poked my head outside, while Daemian was choking down a cancer stick, just to chat. There was a small group of random people clustered around, and one looks at me and says, "Where do work - besides here?"

I was like, "Uhhhh what?"

"You look REALLY familiar. Where do I know you from?"

"Umm, I haven't worked at any other bars than this one. Where have you worked?"

"Well, then you have a twin, because I swear I've seen you somewhere else."

At that point, a customer came to the door, so I went in to ring him in. Then headed back outside. She started in again, "What's your day job?" (I'm guessing Daemian made a comment about me having a real job, while I was inside.)

"Quality manager at a manufacturing company."

"Where?"

"Here in Worcester." I was being evasive on purpose. I generally don't identify where I work during the day to people at the club, especially ones I don't believe I know.

"What company?"

I broke down and told her. She got rather animated, and exclaimed that was where she knew me from. Then I finally recognized her. She worked in the sales office for like two months. After some typical work-bashing, she suggested I send her my resume. She works for an HR department, and her husband's company is hiring. I specified that I wanted to sell my condo and move to California. She said they could help with the sale, and have divisions across the US. So, she gave me her email address. Didn't meet any guys, but who knows where this may lead!

Saturday I had to work, again, because that damn Daemian skipped out of town, and I had to cover. Again, no prospects. There weren't a lot of people there, and not a lot of Possibles. Very few Brazilians, too. The cute 20-year-old one was there. I was a little flirty with him. He seems hesitantly responsive. He may be interested, but is not sure if he should. I know the feeling. I am interested, but he is SO young. Diego (Mr Eywwww Troll) showed up, as well. He actually smiled and said "Hi!" as he came in, so I am apparently not troll material anymore.

Sunday, I went to Circuit City to browse flat-panel TV's. The Sony Bravia is still the most glorious. Daemian is trying to convince me to buy one through him, but he mostly had Toshiba's available. The Toshiba had a really nice picture, actually. The price D listed was only like $20 cheaper than Circuit City, but they also had the Bravia's on sale. I didn't buy any.

I stopped in at the bar for a little while on the way home. When I did get home, about 10:30, I thought I'd check email and see if my parents had gotten the pics I had sent of my snazzy new car! I got an IM from my friend Will. We spent like an hour and a half chatting. Reminiscing over times spent together in the past. Flirting with each other. Fantasizing about spending time together again. Wouldn't it be nice...

Friday's Big Event

The Chrysler dealer in town was bought out by the Dodge dealer in town, and I got a letter from them saying I was in the customer database, so I was invited to check out their inventory clearance sale. Called a friend, to see if he'd want to wander around with me and see if they actually had decent prices on stuff.

This 2008 convertible was sitting there, looked nice, but didn't have a price on the window, so I asked. Well, they didn't just tell me the sticker price, they "ran all the numbers" and gave me a monthly payment. I made him give me the actual numbers, then brought him down a couple thousand. He asked if I would buy the car at the lower price, and I said sure. Signed couple forms, swapped keys, and drove away. Zero money out of pocket, and my monthly payment is $50 less.

My friend just sat there gaping at me. "I can't believe you just bought a car." I was rather even-tempered through the whole thing. Even the salesman was surprised at how ... unemotional I was about it. Those of you who know me, won't be so surprised!

Delay

I was not home Friday night. Details soon to follow. Here's a hint, as well as this week's hottie!

Interesting

I had an interesting evening on Friday. I took off from the club job to go to a big birthday party for a couple friends. I had been asked to make birthday cake, so I asked if they wanted traditional, or any cake. They said any cake. I made lemon poppyseed cake, and a death by chocolate (people were swooning).

Cris was there, so I asked him if he still had Mateus's number. He said no. Then proceeded to tell Brad about seeing Mateus at Epic last Saturday. So, apparently Brad knew. Though, I suspect it was more of an after-the-fact confession to avoid issues. I will have to get back to Epic again some weekend to try again to get his number. Brad commented that a relationship with Mateus wouldn't last long, and I said I was fine with that!

Ronny came to the party as well. He and Cris had not been speaking for the past two months, so it was a good opportunity for them to patch things up. Which seems to have worked. That was nice, it was annoying to see those two ignoring each other.

And Junior was there, looking cute as ever. Someone made a comment about how attractive he was and he complained that he can never get anyone interested in him. I said I had been interested, but he turned me down. His response was "WHAT?!?" I said, "Oh, you knew I was interested!" And he said no he hadn't. Then the straight girl tried licking his belly-button, and the conversation dissipated.

A bunch of us decided to go to the club after the party. I did stop in at the townie bar down the street first, to see if my friend was still bartending, but he wasn't there, so we headed on over to the dance club. As we were walking, Ronny mentioned that Brad was being VERY flirty with him, and insinuated that if they were ever alone together, he would do things inappropriate. He then laughed and imagined he and Brad, while Cris and I hooked up. I said I didn't think Brad was aware I liked Cris. Ronny said Cris does, he had told Ronny. I said, well of course, I had told him one night, after a bit too much to drink. That means Cris did catch what I meant, and did not assume I misspoke.

We got to the club, and went inside. It was DEAD. But we danced anyway. That group is not going to pass up dancing! Junior was being stand-off-ish again. Then that guy Chris showed up, and started dancing with us, as well. All of a sudden, Chris and Junior are making out on the dance floor. I danced a little more with Cris and Ronny, then wandered around a bit. When I came back toward the dance floor, Junior was by himself, and Chris was dancing with Cris. Shortly after my return, though, Junior was back to making out with Chris. Shortly after that, Ronny decided he was tired, and wanted to go home, so we left. We both went around to say goodnight to people first. As I said goodnight to Junior, he gave me a big hug, and said "I like you very much." Slightly surprised, I replied "I like you very much, too." Then he just kind of LOOKED at me, still holding onto me. So, I said "Well, call me!" He said he would.

Heading toward the door, hottie guy John showed up. I haven't seen him since the night he announced he had no ID and I had to send him home. I stopped to say hello. Did say that unfortunately I was heading out, but that I was working on Saturday, so I'd be there, and would enjoy seeing him again. He said he wasn't heading into Boston, so he would come in. Yeaaaaaa.

Saturday night I worked at the club, covering for Danielle, who had taken my Friday shift, and had a big concert to go to, and had asked me take her shift. It was fairly slow, not many Brazilians, either. I had taught Eddie how to make a Swedish Fish that week, so I had not only my usual Stoli Raz & Sprite, but a Swedish Fish, as well. Hottie John never showed up. Dammit. So, ended up hanging out after hours with Daemian and Eddie. Had another Stoli Raz, and another Swedish Fish.

Sunday, Ronny wanted to hang out. We did a little shopping, then headed to Uno's for dinner. It's next to the Coldstone, so the ice cream was the real intent. Invited Daemian to join us. Ronny also wanted to go see Forbidden Kingdom, but I wasn't that keen on that idea. But as we started nibbling on our ice creams, Brad called me back and said he and Cris had been hanging out with Junior all day, and were thinking of going to a movie. I mentioned our situation, so they came down to where we were, and we all went to see Forbidden Kingdom. Junior was distant, again. The movie was blah. All these flying people martial arts movies get kind of repetitive.

Didn't sleep well that night. I had a strange dream about my father being some evil Bond-villian type that was trying to take over the world. My problem was that he took all the cars as part of the invasion he was launching (not sure who it was against), so I was gonna be late for work. We all have our little problems...

Epic

Well, this weekend was exciting - for a change!

Friday night, I was at work, of course. Attendance was the highest we've seen in two months, though by only 10 more people. And the weather is finally getting mild, so there are fewer people using the coat-check. Vinnie was in a Foul mood when I first got there. But acting surprised at that would be like sticking your hand in a roaring fire, then acting surprised that it hurt.

The fun part came around 10pm or so. It was still early, and we were still very slow. Bolton showed up (the belligerent drunk from last week), with a big loud obnoxious straight girl. Bolton was trying to be flirty, so they chatted a bit. She mentioned how hot the guy working at the bar next-door is (straight bar), but that he's not into her, because he "has a thing for hot Brazilians". She even left it in the non-gender form. I quickly jumped on the opening and replied, "Oh, I understand! I have a thing for hot Brazilians, too!" Oh, the look of shock, offense, and anger swirling across Bolton's face was priceless!! They went in for a drink, and he didn't try pestering me. They did come back on their way out, of course. She headed out the door, and he stopped by to ask me if I wanted his phone number. I said, "... No." More shocked offense. He missed a beat, then said I was mean, and could have at least said Yes and thrown it away after he left. I just kind of shrugged. He did not leave happy. I'm a bad employee...

Matty turns to me, and says he was right, I was mean, I could have said yes and pitched it after. I just gave him a raised-eyebrow look. He paused a second, then conceded that the result of that would have been for Bolton to come in the following weekend, all saccharine and annoying, asking me why I never called. As I have said before, I am not fond of Games. I meant NO, so I said NO. Whatever.

Saturday, my friend Nish had some gay activist ceremony to go to for work (LONG story) at the Hyatt in Boston, so he had asked if I wanted to meet up with him afterwards and go to Epic, at the Roxy. That's THE gay club on Saturday, apparently. I said sure. As Saturday evening rolled around, I started feeling lazy, and was enjoying the Taye Diggs movies playing on Oxygen. So I was contemplating bailing on him, but decided it would be good for me to get out to Boston again. Missed the last half hour of The Best Man, but I put on my cute little red Guess shirt that I "got" from Shirtless Confused Brazilian a few months ago, the cute jeans Ronny gave me as a gift while we were together, and my brown steel-toe Doc Martins. I didn't shave, which along with the buzzed haircut, gives me a certain Wentworth Miller look! (deluded, I know) Grabbed some money, and headed to Boston. I pulled in to the Natick travel plaza to pee, and Nish calls. "What are you doing?" I said I was about to go pee. He got a little bit upset and asked why I wasn't coming to Boston! I clarified that I was about to pee at the travel plaza, and he calmed down a bit. (I did that on purpose.) Got into town, and circled around Tremont a little. I found an open meter spot, and parked. Met up with Nish and Daniel, and went to the Roxy!

I had told myself to smile, enjoy myself, and project confidence. I know what my issues are, and I was trying to work around them! As we turned from coat check to head into the fray, a cute latino guy caught my eye and smiled at me! I smiled back, with the appropriate lingering gaze. But he rather Screamed Bottom, so I didn't make a big deal out of it. We got drinks (SO much more expensive than I'm used to!!) and stood there taking in the scene. I saw a cute guy walk past, then realized - Oh My Gawd - it was Mateus! The long-time followers of this blog may remember Mateus from ages ago. Another friend in that group of Brazilians that I totally had a thing for. So, I ran after him, called out his name. He didn't recognize me at first, but did say I look VERY different than the last time he saw me. Quite true. He would really only have seen the preppy, shaved, with-hair look. He was touchy and friendly, and said yea we should meet up sometime. He said he's single, and he would definitely give me his phone number. Dumbass me had left it in my jacket - now in coatcheck - assuming I would have NO need for my phone while I was dancing!

I went back over to Nish, and we headed onto the dance floor. There was this cute, short, muscley guy that caught my attention. To my surprise, as he walked past, he leaned over and kissed me. I said to Nish, "I don't know him!" Nish replied, "Whore!" I laughed! And I kept smiling! It was suddenly getting easy to smile and have a good time!! As we continued to dance, I looked over and saw who I thought looked like Cris. I asked Nish if he thought it was Cris, and he asked "Chris who?" I said the one from Brad and Cris. Nish said "Oh Brad and Cris are here?" I said, "NOooooo..... just Cris!" He didn't quite catch the implication and ran over to say hi. Cris was not especially pleased to see us, but said hello and introduced us to his ... friends. One was Davis, the big ugly obnoxious one that I have loathed for quite some time now. Then Cris quickly decided to 'walk around' and left. He basically avoided us like SARS victims all night. Nish asked me if I thought Brad knew Cris was there. I said my guess was that Brad thought Cris was 'at his sister's house'.

Then Nish pointed a guy in a white shirt somewhat across the room, and asked if that was some guy from my club. I looked for a couple seconds, and was like, Oh My Gawd - it was Marcelo. As in Mr I'll Call You Tomorrow. I went on a fruit-loop to see if I could track him down and say Oh Hi, but I did not see him again all night. Kept seeing short muscley guy, and smiling, waving, flirting, dancing in his general direction. At one point we even made out briefly. He had a nice tight ass, too. In my travels, I saw Mateus a couple times, but he was tightly tied into his group of friends, and getting progressively more drunk. Then, as I squeezed past some tall broad-shouldered hot shirtless guy, he grabbed my butt. I was Popular!! Of course, by this time I was starting to wonder if my attire was throwing off too much of a Top vibe. I know, I know, it seems incomprehensible to even say that, but who knows.

They had like 4 go-go boys, and three shot boys. The shot boys were done up in tight little baseball outfits, very nice. The dancers ran a spectrum of black to brown to white. I - surprise! - liked the brown and black the best. Particularly the brown... Which leads back to Mateus. He left early. After getting our coats back from coatcheck, I wanted to grab his number, but they all had left already. I did see the latino guy from when I first came in. He smiled and winked again. I reciprocated. But I was rather upset that I missed Mateus.

I have to ask Cris if he still has Mateus's number. If I don't tell Brad about EVERYONE that I saw there that night, Cris would at Least owe me a phone number!

I got back to my car, and found a parking ticket. I was thinking I was at a meter spot on Tremont, so didn't even pay attention, but I was actually on Shawmut, right where Tremont takes a sharp turn and turns INTO Shawmut if you don't follow the bend. And Shawmut is metered during the day and resident only at night. So, I spent $40 on parking! Which explains how I found a meter spot so close without fighting anyone.

I need to go to Boston more often again. I would rather make a weekend of it, though. Head out earlier on Saturday, meet up with friends, hang out, go to dinner, then go clubbing, crash in town, maybe do brunch, eventually head back home later on Sunday. Drive in, dance, drive home just gets too obnoxious. I even spent $7.20 just on tolls. If I had Mateus's number...

Spring is close

I had the top down this week! Briefly... We hit nearly 70 on Thursday afternoon. Of course, Sunday night's forecast says Snow. Ughh. But if we focus on the 70. And the sunshine! It will get here. It has to.

So, time to open the windows, and let the warm breezes in! Or hot guys. Whatever happens through your window...

Same old

We had lousy weather again this weekend. So, we were dead Friday night. Saturday night wasn't great either, but it was at least better than Friday. There also wasn't really anyone in on Friday night that I was interested in - well, other than Junior, who won't. This one guy, however, was enamored with me. We'll call him Bolton. He was not UNattractive, but not my type, and no Zing. And, yes, he was white. And was noticeably intoxicated after his first drink from our bar. He was getting a little touchy-feely. Normally I'd have switched into full-bore bitch mode, but I was bored, and it has been a while, so I was kind of absorbing the accolades. Unfortunately, we had an audience. The cop found the whole thing quite entertaining. And Daemian was MORE than willing to join in. So, as I was trying to keep Bolton to a social level of attention, I had those two giggling like school girls in the background. I'm guessing Daemian mentioned something to Eddie (who normally isn't there on Friday's but there was a switch in the schedule this week), the bar supervisor, because he came up at one point and told the guy to leave the employees alone. I think Daemian was instigating, because at one point a little later I get an angry text from Eddie asking if I gave Bolton my phone number. I of course had not. As we were forcing people out the door, he asked if he could follow me home. I said No. He got clingy, so security forced him out the door. He got bitchy about that. I had already told him to be nice to the security. So, belligerent drunk is way not my type. He hung around outside the club for quite a while, waiting for me to come outside. But since Eddie was supervisor that night, we ended up hanging out at the bar until 4am. So, he was long gone by the time I left. The incident is nearly memorialized already, though. God forbid I should actually hit it off at the front door with someone I AM interested in...

Saturday I met up with some friends and played Hero Quest all day. We had a lot of fun. And pigged out on junk food. I of course was the one who supplied the junk food, but you can't just blame the dealer for the junkie's addiction! (Sidebar: I think Jen knows Joe has a thing for Brad.) That night I met up with Nish, and a new friend of his to dance the night away at the club. I think it is work related, but not completely sure. The guy gave me two kisses goodnight as they left. He stayed at Nish's house that night. I called Sunday for details, but got a vague nothing response, so assume he was still there at the time.

Leo was there; I said hello and kept walking. Diego was there, lookin yummy (formerly known as "Mr. Ick You're a Troll"). He said hello, without so much as a wince! Cris was on the dancefloor with us, as well. I was looking pretty good, too, that night. I hadn't shaved, and had a cute shirt on, and with my buzzed head was getting a few positive responses. The other staff especially was vocal about it. Of course, I brought in a whole bag of cookies (I am a dealer!), so they would have been gracious anyway. The guy with the near-identical twin at my gym was also there. We'll call him Twin, I guess. Twin gives me a lengthy look when he replies to my greetings, so I am not sure his deal, but he always arrives with the same guy, and they stay quite close to each other the whole time, so I'm guessing he's taken. Sigh... I was dancing with Cris at one point, and some Brazilian chick came on the floor, so Cris was all up in that. He loves to dance with girls. Not sure the draw. He then had to introduce her to everyone else on the floor (all Brazilians except me). Suddenly her friends appeared out of nowhere, and two of them were all over me shoving their asses at me, and being all booby and eywwww. I kept trying to avoid them, and ended up moving over close to Cris to dance more with him. All of a sudden the first chick and Cris are obviously talking about me, then the girls discuss, then the ass and booby ones come over to me. "Are you Gay??" Dumb-struck. I of course said YEAA. Now it was their turn. "Oh my gawd, we thought you were Straight! Are you Sure you're gay?" What?? Am I SURE?? "Trust honey!" With a flick of the wrist in diva formation. How can this be?? I know I used to flame out a lot in college, and have been much more subdued for a while, but Damn. Straight???? Am I really sending off those vibes? Is that why none of the guys approach me? Is that why I keep hookin' bottoms on Match?? Do I need to Gay It Up??

I think I have been rather duty-minded while at the front door. I just have never been good at small talk, so flirty never comes out right for me. I tend to be too direct. "I'm interested in you." "I want to kiss you." I've been scolded for not playing the game enough. Any time I have tried being 'subtle' it goes completely unnoticed, so that's why I just go for broke, and skip the Parcheesi.

I mentioned to Cris that I like Diego. He said Diego has a boyfriend. I said, yea, but he's not interested in me anyway. Cris said Diego's not interested in anybody. (I wonder if that means Cris tried, too.)

I didn't stay past close, just went home. Alone. Again...

It's OK

A friend linked me to a song by Tomboy called OK2BGAY. The youtube version suggested I'd also like the - uh - Harry Potter version. If you are a die-hard HP fan, and would be horrified by the blasphemy, don't watch. Or, as it says, watch until you're OK with it...

Buzzed

My hair was getting obnoxiously long and unruly, so I decided to buzz it all off with the clippers again. Today at work was a constant barrage of people commenting. This is NOT the first time I've done this. I have done the EXACT same thing to my hair I think twice before, both within the past year. Most of them were positive comments. Except the one guy who kept asking when my chemo was finished.

And I also wanted to mention that I got an invite in the mail to AmEx platinum. It has a $450 annual fee, but provides a lot of exclusive services and access. Most of it is travel related, so if I had a job with a real company that actually gave vacation time, then it might be more useful. Right now, I don't even have a use for free companion airfares. And I really want the black one, not the platinum... So, I pitched it.

In honor of my "new" haircut, I was looking for a pic to post that also had buzzed hair. I guess I never paid that much attention to the hair before, because I got a lot of them with short short hair. A few Parade posts already have buzzed heads. So, here's one more!
