Friday night I was training a new hire on running the front door. This will allow me to cut back on hours and spend more time with my friends, in theory. They continue to complain that I shouldn’t work because I can’t hang out with them. Once I stop working, however, they will probably not be doing anything anyway. But training with Danielle was not as encouraging as I had hoped. I had been told that she had club front door experience. That was incorrect. She cashiers at a Spencer Gifts. She was quite slow. I had to focus so much attention on her, that it was actually harder to be flirty than when I am by myself. The tight little black kid mentioned a week or two ago, radiating heat, came in again, by himself again. He was not on anything, and did not even seem to remember me. Oh, well. The dancer from two weekends ago was there, too. He was chatting with me quite a bit, again. As I steered the conversation toward hangin’ out, having a drink after closing, he mentioned he lives with his girlfriend of four years. After close, he collected his pay, said goodnight, and headed home. The straight girl with the cute guy along showed up, as well, with that same guy. She made a comment about how I should have remembered he had a military ID (too much going on), so I said, "Oooo, military - Hot!" The guy replied "Don't ask don't tell!" Stop teasing me!!!
Saturday morning I had to go to work for a little while at my day job. Then met up with some friends and headed down to a little amusement park in Connecticut that hosts a big haunted house. It was a lot of fun. I reflexively jump when startled, which my brother took glee in abusing when growing up, but I don’t get scared. One of the friends I was with has a clown phobia, so didn’t enjoy that part very much, but the rest of enjoyed her reactions. I got back shortly after 1am, so decided to head to the club for a bit (Ronny had called a couple times to get me to join them) rather than just head home. When I walked in, Security guy mentioned that John was there and had asked for me. I said hello to a bunch of people, then went over to chat with John. Ronny interrupted me to introduce me to his friend Luis (Puerto Rican, yes I was interested). The first words out of Luis’s mouth were that he is straight. That’s nice… I told Ronny I was trying to talk to “that guy over there” so he let me go back to John. Shortly before close, John’s friend said he was heading out, so John said he was, too. He said goodnight and started leaving. I asked if I was ever going to get to spend time with him beyond hello and goodbye at the club, and he replied that he’s married, and walked out the door. I immediately went to Security guy to ask what that meant, and he had no clue. He said John broke up with his ex a while ago and is single, as far as he knows.
Sunday morning I talked to Ronny. Luis went back to Ronny’s place for a little while that night, and they made out. Luis’s first time ever kissing a guy. Ronny mentioned that he is actually Luis’s boss, and I described how that could (possibly) cause problems, and Ronny could (possibly) get fired if it ended in a harassment charge. Ronny asked if I did anything with John, so I told him the story. Ronny said he doesn’t understand why I am having such bad luck getting anyone to be interested, then offered to get back together so I don’t have to be alone. Sweet, but he knows I don’t want to. That evening was another show, so I headed back to the club to work again. The hunky 19yo Puerto Rican kid I see often was there, with some family, to see the show. At a point when I could catch him by himself, I told him I thought he was very attractive. He (Steven) became a bit more engaging, but didn’t seem too eager to pursue anything. The show wrapped up about just before 9:30, and he headed for the door. He did tell me that he would be back later. Around 10 I was done, and ended up staying for a while and having a drink. The staff is apparently dressing as Rocky Horror characters for the Halloween party (10-27) night, and they decided to assign me the role of Janet. Mimi (aka Alex) offered to help with hair and makeup. Around 11:30 I figured I should head home, and Steven came back. I said hello, he said hi, and then kept walking. I waited a minute, then followed to the dance floor area. He was dancing with a couple people, one of whom was his mother. I had not noticed that she had stayed after the show ended. I assume he would be a little uncomfortable with anything happening with his mother around, so I figured I would let it slide for now. Next weekend, I better get a kiss, though!
