Surprising

I turned in my notice at work, today. Did NOT go as expected. At the end of the day, the owner asked me to stop by. I was expecting a "well, sorry to see you go" but he asked me what kind of position I would want if I could create my own. I said I was rather surprised, and caught off guard. He said they did appreciate what I had to contribute. It's a shame that nobody gets anywhere at that company without threatening to quit as the means of advancement. I said I'd think about it over the weekend.
