Turkey Day
Another Thanksgiving finished, another fridge full of leftovers. And the turkey came out Fabulous, again. Crispy golden skin, moist tender meat, no leftover stuffing. I am still having trouble mastering the gravy, though. I think I dumped in too much flour this year; it got a bit doughy.
And Cheesecake Factory pumpkin pecan cheesecake!! A dessert I didn't make, but OMG nom nom nom...
Ronny and Ronninho hid out in his room of course. Shaun and Ian brought a friend, Crystal, whom Shaun met at school (BC). Nauber's CF coworker Jason and Bertucci coworker Renato came. Liliane brought her BF Orlando. Mykael and Patrick brought Sailor along. Nauber and Ian were both making "I want one" noises... Sadly, Lisa and Aonghus did not stop by with little Lena.

Thanks
This week was Thanksgiving. I did dinner again. We had a good turnout this year. Ronny, Nauber, and I of course. Nauber's friends Liliani and Darrell. Ronny's friend Dulci and her two daughters. My friend Shaun and her husband Ian. Nauber's coworker Nick. Ronny's kind-of-sort-of boyfriend also showed up later in the evening and ate the second drumstick, which Nauber was NOT happy about.
My turkey turned out good, as always. Also did a ham this year, turned out fabulous. Served it with an apple cranberry chutney (no cran sauce). Giblet stuffing, smoked gouda mashed potatoes, roasted beets, yams, roasted zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower with crumb topping, and gravy were the sides. The gravy didn't turn out well at all, but that was partly due to Liliani (who offered to help, so came early) trying to tell me I was 'doing it wrong' and taking over. She tried to change the beets, too, but I stopped her on that one, so they did turn out right (which I pointed out to her!). For dessert I did pumpkin cheesecake, mixed berry pie, and a black forest pie. Both Liliani and Dulci brought pave (a Brazilian pudding torte), though one was peach and one was pineapple. I like peach more than I like pineapple, so I liked the pave de pessago (the peach one) better.
My stove schedule was also messed up a bit because Liliani brought a jug of cider and wanted to mull it, so we had a pot with spiced cider, too. I had bought egg-nog, but it got sidelined by the cider.
Nick ended up staying over that night, and we watched Another Gay Movie 'cause he hadn't seen it before (if you watch it, make sure to get the "uncut" version - it's so much more raunchy!). Darryl Stephens is one of my all-time favorites:

Older
The birthday party last weekend was a success. Too much food, of course, and I didn't care for the brazilian snacks. Cris' friend Ney offered to do them. The kibbe and the coxinha were slightly better than Cleuza's, but I like her bolinhos and pastel much better. The bolinhos (fried little balls of cheese) had big green chunks of herbs in them - no idea which herb, but rather overpowered the yummy cheesiness. The pastel I prefer are the cheese and corn ones, he only made beef. Liliani did another Torta de pao (chicken cake!), and we rolled out dozens of docinhos. Most of them were new variations. Added pecans to the chocolate ones (yum!), rolled a strawberry piece inside, or added a bunch of pineapple to coconut ones.
Everyone also liked the porn star calendar in Nauber's room (I gave it to him earlier this year). November is a particularly good choice, Dario beck. The calendar is full nudity, but here's a more modest shot of him:

Welcome back...
It has been a while since I've posted. With Nauber's mother here, I was responsible for hosting a lot of the time, so posting was low priority. We had a little trip to Salem, and a 5-day in NYC. It was a nice 6-week visit for Nauber, but it ended up being 'work' for me. It was hard to communicate, and I spent SOOOOOO much time at Marshall's it was getting scary. She was more distant and stoic than I would have expected, based on Nauber telling stories about how she loves taking care of everyone and all his friends love her to death. And she did almost no cooking. Nauber claims she made him dinner every day, but I never saw any of it, so she was cooking for one or two, if she was. I of course had to make cake all the time. Even showed her how to do Olhos de Sogra.
Cafe Belo is no more, but the big one in Everett is now under new ownership and open as Brava Cafe. Two dollars more, but the meat did taste like somewhat better cuts. The garlic beef is really weak on the garlic, though!
And, still job hunting. Sigh...

4th
Hope you had a nice 4th of July. We were in Tampa Bay, Florida. It was hot and humid the whole time, and Nauber still insisted on no AC. So, while we were in the car he would roll down the window. Mara would tell him to roll it up because she had the air on, but Cida would just turn it off. Not even leave the fan on, just shut the whole thing off. Ughhh.
Other than Cida dumping beer on me shortly before heading to the airport, it was a nice trip. Went to Busch Gardens. Saw the Dali museum, FL museum of art, Tampa aquarium (second trip), and Chihuly collection. Chihuly was like three things, and cost $15 each. Luckily Mara had passes so we paid very little to go there, and nothing at the other three. They made me bake a banana bread and a beet cake. They loved them both!
Started work when I got back. I get up early, leave around 7:20, get back between 5:30 or 6, and go to bed around 11:30. I didn't see Nauber at all on Thursday because of schedules, so I was not able to tell him that I wanted to meet up for lunch on Friday. So had lunch alone. ;( But he made empadao and chocolate/coconut cake while he was home today!

Yesterday was my birthday. Ronny bitched I didn't do the dishes. Nauber asked why I didn't make him a cake. So, as usual, nobody cared enough to think about doing something for me.
Today Nauber and I went for lunch, with Liliani. We tried Summer Shack. Food was meh. Service was meh. Bathroom had no running water. They were out of iced tea and diet coke. We will not be going back.
After we ate, I said I wanted ColdStone. We ended up malling with Nauber. By the time he finished at A/X, Liliani had already left, and he said he didn't have time for ice cream, he had to go to work. I said I'd been saying ColdStone for two hours. He said I don't have a job. (I don't get it, either...) I repeated my complaint from last night that just one day a year it would be nice if he thought about what I wanted instead of making everybody do what he wants all the time. We got ice cream, but he was grumpy the whole time. Not exactly the point...
And it turns out the flavor I vaguely recalled wanting to try was limited time only in May, and no longer available (lemon poppyseed), so I got chocolate hazelnut. Meh.
Tomorrow is Pride. I don't really want to go, but there appears to be little option. I would rather play D&D, but there aren't enough people available - again. It's been three months since we last played. Pride has turned into an excuse for annoying people to get drunk. As I read recently, we've done to Pride what we've done to Christmas (ignore the message and go for the celebrating).
I'm in a funk. The annoying job hunt doesn't help at all. Everytime I see an employed person it reminds me how frustrating it is that nobody wants to hire someone competent enough to get top marks in MBA and MS ME.

Thanks
Yesterday was Thanksgiving. I hosted again. Shaun came with Ian and her sister LaTiegrie plus baby Tora. Phil came - slightly hobbled by an appendectomy. Lance was there. Mykael came late, and Ronny was also a late arrival because he went to a TG at his ex's boss's house (and *surprise* bumped into the ex) first.
I made turkey with giblet stuffing which turned out very good, and gravy. Made cran sauce again, but forgot it in the fridge, so nobody ate any. Crescent rolls. Peas and carrots with crumbs, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, beets, and salpicao (brazilian chicken salad). I also did sangria, tiramisu, and apple-pie (the family recipe version that's more like hostess fruitpies).
Nauber got a headache and was not very participative. Lance got into a strange agrument over logic with Ian (the compu-sci PhD student). We played a little Catan.
Today Nauber and I met Shaun et al at the aquarium, but Tora started getting fussy right about then, so we saw them for all of 3 minutes. But Nauber got to see his penguins again. And then I got to follow him around shopping. By 4pm the stores aren't as insane.
Should be playing D&D tomorrow at Phil's with Brad and Rick.
So, let us give thanks. Here's one more thing to give thanks for:

Pizza Pizza
Went to a 'new' churrascaria for lunch on Columbus Day, and there was a sign for $8 pizza buffet. We asked when the pizza was, and the waitress said after 7pm. So, last night (yes, last night was Friday, sorry I'm late), we headed there in anticipation of stuffing ourselves silly with pizza, but there was none. They told us the pizza buffet is only on Mondays. So, when we asked on Columbus Day (a Monday), they didn't bother pointing out that Monday is the ONLY day. So, we stuffed ourselves silly on meat (Garlic Beef!!) and will have to go BACK sometime. Damn...

Ickky
Yoplait was on sale at the grocery store, so it was fairly well picked-over when I got there. I was choosing a few flavors to buy, and was rather limited. I picked up a Light Thick and Creamy Cinnamon Roll cup, and added it to my cherry and mixed berry.
I have just opened that one, and am currently attempting to eat it. It is rather gross. I have mixed it with some FiberOne cereal, so it's not as gag-inducing as it is on its own. Imagine Pepsi-flavored petroleum jelly, and that's close to what came oozing out of the container. I am reminded of the Onion video pretending to show Dominos Pizza scientists experimenting on how gross a food product people would be willing to eat.
My advice is, skip the Light Thick & Creamy line, especially the 'cinnamon roll'!

Feliz Aniversario
It's birthday time again in the land of Brazilians. There seems to be a particularly high percentage of November birthdays. I've been told this is due to the fact that it is nine months after Carnivale (which goes by Mardi Gras down in NOLA). Carnivale is celebrated pretty much nationwide, and is all about dancing, drinking, partying, and -uh- gettin' your groove on. So, they have a lot of November babies!
Friday was Nauber's. He wanted to go shopping, so we went to the outlet mall. He spent a fair chunk of money, the majority of which was at the Calvin Klein store, and a good three pounds of chocolate from Lindt. Saturday we went to the Roxy to dance. Sunday we went to see Madagascar 2; I thought the first one was better, but it's fairly funny. It was also Cris's birthday that day, so we ended up at their house later for cake. (Monday was Sergio's BD, but since he longer speaks to me, that one passed by unmarked.)
Saturday morning I made French Toast, which he said was very good. I also tossed together a banana cream pie. Monday I made pasta for lunch, and these little almond cookie things I picked up from an episode of Paula Deen's cooking show. Everybody likes those! (Except for the few blasphemers out there who don't appreciate the flavor of almond extract.)

Return of the Dinner Party
Years ago, when I first moved here and lived with Russell, he threw dinner parties all the time. He hadn't had one for quite a while. The dark ages (i.e. Vanessa) were fairly hostile, so he avoided bringing guests into the house. But he's reached the enlightenment (well, Christine), so set up plans to have a dinner party again on Saturday. With all of my stuff packed away, it was hard to contribute, and I wasn't really around much, anyway.
Thursday night I went to the club. Visited for a while with various people. Got home around 2am. Slept in Friday, just kinda goofed off all day. Ended up at the club again with Nish. Luther showed up, as well. There was a hunky guy standing against the wall. Lots of people there were going up to talk to him, which usually dissuades me from trying, but the 'competition' was not that good, so I gave it a shot. He turned out to be Brazilian. (Even Nish was surprised, so stop judging me...) Nice guy, seemed a little awkward. Well, I ended up winning. We got in his truck, and he drove me to my car, then followed me home. There was a baby seat in the back seat of the truck, which I asked about. He has a kid here. So, he's bi, and/or confused. But he grabbed my ass and said he wanted to F*** me. Yippee!! Then he grabbed my hand and put it in his crotch. He was ready, already! He asked if liked 'em big. Yippee!! Turned out to be a little bit wham-bam-thankyou-ma'am. And had more resistance to kissing than the straight guy from Labor Day weekend. Which means I wasn't as Appreciative as I really wanted to be. He finished off, though. Went to sleep for maybe 30 minutes. Then we went round 2. I nearly made it, but again, a couple kisses would have helped me out. He finished off, again. Then went home. I asked for his number. He took mine instead. I am assuming he won't ever call. I don't exactly want to date him, but would love playing with that again! I won't drink that time, which may help, too.
Saturday morning got up early and went over to Brad's house. Rick and Joe were there, and we played Arkham Horror again. Screwed up the first time, so scrapped it and started over. Did much better the second time around, but I had to leave about 4 to get back home for the dinner party, so they finished without me. Cris was at Russell's house cleaning (he hired him to do a monthly clean), and Ronny came over as my guest. When he finished, Russell invited him to stay for dinner, and he said sure. The new downstairs tenant came, with his girlfriend, and her sister. Brian and Irma came. Russell's friends Moe and Moe's wife (I can't remember her name) came from Boston, as well. Moe is South African, and kinda cute.
Cris quickly took charge of the grill, and they put me in charge of pina coladas, which were a big hit. Russell had picked up Malibu instead of regular rum, so they were not that strong, but very tasty. I picked the olives out of my salad, so someone commented incredulously that they couldn't believe someone would not like olives. Brian chimed in that he doesn't like olives, either. Moe responded with "Well, you just haven't tried MY olives!" I couldn't help but laugh, which triggered a serious round of laughter around the whole table. Moe got a little embarrassed and admitted he walked right into that one. Russell commented that he needs to "know his audience", which I don't think he caught. Later Irma tried to convince us that she is taller than I am, so we ended up back-to-back. Somehow, Moe got caught up in it, too, and next thing I know he grabs my hand, and is back-to-back with me. Not that I minded.
Later, they switched to margaritas. I declined. Said I don't drink tequila, after a bad experience. Moe asked "how ugly was she?" I said "Not that kind of experience; I just got drunk." He never clued in, apparently.
Then Ronny, Cris, and I headed back to Brad and Cris's to watch a movie. "Shelter" Gay coming of age story. Not bad. The sister was despicable, but that happens. Brad and Cris were both getting tired, so they went to sleep, and Ronny headed home. Nish called from the club, so I headed down there. Chatted with hotdog guy for a bit. Nish was dancing with cute black guy, Reggie. At the end of the evening, they convinced me to come along to an after-party. Sokun was there with a big bowl full of sex-on-the-beach. And a stack of straws. I got home about 4am.
At 10am, Ronny called to go get breakfast. Cris came along, and we went to IHOP. Stopped in at Taco Bell, but no Nauber, so I called him. He said he told me he doesn't work TB on weekends. So, we made plans to meet up later that night when he finished his other job. When I picked him up, his allergies were pretty bad, and he was quite apologetic. He also had a full tray of fudge brownies for me. We went back to my place, and made him some tea. He spent the night. In the middle of the night, we started gettin' busy. I made a mess on him, and then we went back to sleep. In the morning, we finished what had started earlier. This time we both got off, but he of course was able to throw his away, while I just made another mess on him.
He's not as impressively endowed as the one from Friday, but he loves to kiss, and has that aura about him that gets me going. He also told me that Sunday afternoon he was talking with his mother back in Brazil, and he told her about me. That kind of confirms the 'relationshippy' tendency. Not that I mind, but I did clearly state that I plan to leave MA in a couple months. Ronny of course is hoping I fall in love and decide to stay in MA for at least 2 more years. I told him not to count it.

a quick laugh
If you connect to the Davey Wavey link in the list to the right, you will end up at a fun little blog by a cute little gay boy. The other day he posted the following video in order to ask THE big question. It is rather funny, so check it out.

Random invite
As you may recall, the other day Narinn left his keys in my car (and his belt, apparently - I didn't ask why he took his belt of in my car). This past weekend they went on a camping trip, so I told him to call when they got back. He called Monday night as they were driving home, and asked when I was coming down to Providence. I suggested Wednesday night. He said sure. I said I'd call when I got home from work Wednesday afternoon.
Wednesday afternoon, I got home from work, and gave Narinn a call. He was on his way home, and asked if I was still coming over that night. I said yes. He asked what I had planned. I said I didn't really have anything specific planned. He said it was Jim's (his BF) BDay, and they were meeting up with some friends, and then going to dinner. I was kind of like, ohhhh, uhhh, ok. He then asked if I wanted to come along. I said I didn't want to intrude. He said that was nonsense, it was just a bunch of friends having drinks and going to dinner. I said OK.
Drove down to Providence, the traffic on 95 was awful, so I was a few minutes later than expected. Ring the doorbell (holding the housekey in my hand...). Narinn eventually comes and opens the door. They had been napping. It was 5:30. They were supposed to be at the friend's place at 6. I come in, Narinn parks me in front of the TV, and then goes upstairs to get ready. About 6, Jim comes down and says Narinn's not ready yet, but he (as guest of honor) really should head over, and asks if that's OK if I wait there for Narinn and head over with him when he's ready. I said sure. Jim left. Shortly after that, Narinn comes downstairs in a cute little black pair of underwear and asks me to rub the vitamin E oil on his back. (I believe that makes the 4th time I've applied E to him, and I've only known him 2 months.) Then he gets dressed, and we head over. The party was at Rebecca's house, so I knew the host already. That made me feel more comfortable. Jim's best friend John was there already. Those four had been the ones on the camping trip last weekend. Rebecca's Argentinian girlfriend Mara was there, as well. Then Jim's friend Elizabeth showed up. That was it. A rather tight-knit group that had a fair amount of history together. But they were so nice and I didn't feel awkward at all.
We went to Louie Fuller for dinner. The food was less than expected. The framboise was good, some dishes were way oversauced, and the pasta was underdone, the risotto overdone. Not as special as they were promising. At one point, Jim put his hands on my shoulders and thanked me for coming. That was sweet. I had been feeling a teensy bit like an interloper, but that made me feel better. After dinner we headed back to Rebecca's and John brought out a strawberry cheesecake that he had made. They all raved, but it was a little too powerbar-ish for my tastes. Yes, yes, I realize there is a definite connection between me being the fattie in the room, and them eating desserts that taste like the box. (Well, that may be slightly unfair, since it was made from scratch.)
We nestled in on the couch for a while, and Jim and I even intertwined a bit. Rebecca started to as well, then decided she didn't know me well enough, and pulled away. That's OK, Jim's cuter! Narinn started to suggest going out. None of them were interested, and I would have if I hadn't had to be at work in the morning. Rebecca left Thursday for a week vacation, and Jim and Narinn are leaving Saturday for a week, as well. They all just got back from a 5-day trip this past Monday. I SO need a new job.
John at one point asked how I met Narinn. It's rather surprising how quickly I've entered their world. I'm glad I got a chance to spend time with Jim, too. I am looking forward to more fun weekends in the future thanks to them!
Graduate
This weekend was my nephew's high school graduation, and I went to Wisconsin for it. Got to see my aunts and uncles, and a couple cousins. It was a very nice trip and I'm glad I went. My mother got all misty again dropping me off at the airport this afternoon.
The flight in was uneventful, and on time. There was one really cute guy on the flight. Totally gay. Cute, great shape, fabulous outfit - Diesel jeans, Guess T, and expensive looking leather sandals. Had a silver wedding band on, so he's already got a husband. Flew Midwest Airlines - wide leather seats, fresh chocolate chip cookies, very comfortable way to fly. Also took like 15 seconds to check in. Service!!
Stopped at Culver's on the way to my sister's place. A midwest institution that you can't find here. Frozen custard and butterburger, check! Saturday was the party - tons and tons of food. Particularly a grape salad that tasted like caramel apples; I got the recipe! My sister's husband bought a new hunting dog that morning - a 7-week-old black lab; SO adorable, even he couldn't insist on keeping the puppy outside. Storms rolled through, so it kept some people away, and made those of there huddle inside or under the tent. The hail and tornadoes did pass us by to the south, though, so we missed the worst of it. My aunt was trying to watch the Belmont Stakes race, but the ABC affiliate was doing emergency weather report for like the entire two hours the storm was raging through the area, so she missed it (they broadcast it later, but it was too late by then). My brother showed up, and his wife proved to everyone there she is a horrible mother; nearly killed the son she actually pays attention to. She gave the daughter (from my brother's first wide) a hug at one point, but was seen making an "ick" face and flicking her hands like they were dirty after she turned around.
Sunday was the ceremony. Drawn out affair with some stupid slide show of "memories" for the graduating class. And the salutatorian speech was all about her most embarrassing moments. Like anybody cared... I told my nephew he was welcome to visit any time he liked. My sister was never informed about the gay thing, and she is total country-mouse to my city-mouse. She hunts, wears camo, shops WalMart and Cabela's, listens to country, and drives a 3/4-ton Chevy pickup. It would be culture shock for my nephew to visit me, but he was very interested in coming. He doesn't know what he wants to do, and it mostly looking for ways to escape his mother's control. My brother came to the ceremony, but about five minutes in, he decided to leave (his wife was about to literally strangle the son, and my sister blew a fuse, so they started heading out the door). He tried to grab his daughter. Since he lost custody last month when he chose to move to Wisconsin, without proper approvals from his ex-wife, or the courts, the daughter was strictly under her grandparents' guardianship, while on this trip with the permission of her mother. So, my brother was not allowed to take her. He blamed my father for "ruining his family". My parents went outside with them to keep the distraction to a minimum for the rest of the gymnasium full of people. They left, in a huff, and were not heard from again. The entire ceremony (150 grads) was white, except for two hispanic families, one interracial, and an asian. The asian kid didn't even have honor cords, though, so they must send the B students to the midwest. You could tell the BMOC right off the bat. He was really cute, too. The photo of him in the tiresome montage was of him wearing just his football pants. Got quite a reaction from the crowd!
Went back to my sister's, and we grilled brats, since the thunderstorms subsided again. They were yummy! Hung out for a while, then played some games, my nephew went off to visit other friends.
Monday I went with my sister to the cheese factory, and bought fresh cheese curds and string cheese. Just made that morning! String cheese that fresh tastes like cream, and pulls into string very nicely. It is SO much better than what you can get at the grocery store. Then we went out for lunch, and I got to have fried cheese curds. Think mozzarella sticks made with chunks of cheddar - SO yummy! On the way back, we drove past a road called Mulletview Drive. Do you see why I left?? Then we had lemon poppyseed cake, and started a bonfire. Made s'mores and "pudgy pies". My nephew grossed out my little niece with slugs and spittle bugs, and grandpa toasted an earthworm over the fire. Nobody actually ate it, though.
On the flight back, there were a bunch of hotties on this flight. I think they were heading to campus. Young looking. One had a gym bag as his carry on that mentioned his high school wrestling team. He was SO cute! There was one cutie closer to my age that was on crutches. Who did I get stuck sitting next to, but some prissy little co-ed. At least she didn't try talking to me. It was 100 degress out when I got back to Massachusetts.
Only three days left of work this week. Hopefully it doesn't all suck too much!

I didn't want to
Friday evening I stumbled into Manhunt to help Nish identify someone. I didn't end up seeing the profile, but we think we figure out who the guy was. Meanwhile, I got like 8 guys to express interest. Not that anything has come of any of those, yet. But exchanging email addresses or phone numbers is a huge step forward from being ignored completely.
That night I worked. It was a slow night. The hot dog cart was parked in front of our door this weekend, and the (bi) vendor gave me a free sausage and peppers. He is rather cute, and has been flirty with me, so who knows. He works weekends, though! It may have been a slow night, but they were good tippers! I only checked 9 coats all night, but made $18 in tips! Poor Danielle was jealous - she's been making in the 3 or 4 range since spring arrived.
Leo was there. I said hello when he came in, but that was it. There was supposed to be a manhunt prospect showing up, too, but he never came in.
Saturday morning I got up at 5:50am to go pick up Daemian and drop him off at the train station in Framingham so he could go to work. I get up, get ready, head downstairs. See there was a message from him. Right after I went to bed, and about 20 minutes after he got home, he called to tell me that he screwed up, and he needed to be in Framingham at 8am, not 7. Bitch. Well, I just stayed up. No point going to all the trouble of undoing everything, for like 30 minutes more sleep, then re-do the morning wake-up. I did take a 4 hour snooze when I got back home, though.
That night I met up with Eddie and Jody for dinner at the chinese buffet (Not Pings). Daemian was supposed to come along, and treat, but he not only has no money at the moment (waiting for the check), but was still at work. The three of us went anyway because on Tuesday Jody leaves for Poland for the entire summer, so it was his last chance at Imperial. On my way home from dinner, Daemian called to ask me to pick him up from the train station all the way the hell out in Framingham again. I said I didn't really want to. Then I get a call from Eddie saying I had to either pick D up, or cover his shift for him. I said I didn't really "have to" do either, and he admitted no, I didn't, but I am "such a nice person" that I would. I continued to say I didn't want to do either, but for E to have D call me back.
Five minutes later, E calls back instead to say that D missed the Framingham train anyway, so would be on the late train. He needed me to cover until like 12:15 when D would be back. Since nobody really starts dancing until midnight anyway, I figured, ehhh what the hell. A part of me did figure it would (of course) run later than anticipated. From about 12:30 until 1:15 I was searching the horizon for someone to take over his shift at the club. I wanted to go dance with the brazilians - they had brought a hot new one along this night. When D finally did show up, I was stuck at the front desk covering while Danielle was off taking photos of the party. Yea - we were having our Hard Candy party to celebrate Madonna's new album. We have a cop that comes in Saturdays to keep an eye on things. When he showed up, and saw the balloons everywhere, he asked what the party was for. I said we were celebrating Madonna's new album. He stopped, looked at me, and asked, "REALLY?" I laughed, and said, "Well, it IS a gay club!" He was very cute, but very straight. Talked with me a little, though.
So, Eddie decided there was no point having D sign in for like 45 minutes, so I just stayed on the shift. Dammit. Turns out the hot new brazilian found a chick, and was all over her all night. Straight friend, or bi, I haven't found out yet. Regardless, I ended up not meeting anyone - again.
Sunday I met up with Ronny at IHOP again. He wanted to banana-stuffed french toast, but they ran out. We had omelettes. Then went to Newbury Comics, and I bought a couple used Blurays, to expand my collection. Came back and watched Eragon. I took Ronny home, and ended up going over to Russell's house. Had a nice visit with him, talked about his new GF, and the raging alcoholic ex. He's happy, though I think he's aware she is too young and energetic to stick with him for long.
Came home and made my vinaigrette for Jody's farewell party on Monday night. I was told to bring cucumber salad. I also found a "lazy trailer trash" dessert to bring. Mash up a store-bought pecan pie, and stir in a tub of coolwhip. I couldn't find pecan, so I used pumpkin. Should be good!

Bigger is Better
Friday night I met up with Russell for dinner. He has a new girlfriend. She's very nice, and I like her much better than the last one. Physically, she is exactly like all the others. He SO has a type, it's not even funny. Sadly, his type also is of a certain age. As he continues to get older, and his type does not, he builds in an increasingly large age gap with each new romantic interest. It's going to be the undoing of this one. She is not enough in his world, and I think she will lose interest and move on. Can't say yet how long that will take.
Then I went to work. It was a dead night, again. Everyone was in a good mood, though. Nothing really happened worth noting. I left shortly after 2am.
I had trouble sleeping, for some unknown reason. Kept waking up randomly. By the time I randomly woke up at 10:30, I figured, screw it, I'm up. Went downstairs, turned on the computer, and the phone rang. I told Daemian he was lucky I was awake already! I went and picked him up, then Danielle came over to buy my TV. We loaded it into her car (which surprisingly enough fit into the back seat). It was a 5 year old Trinitron. Nice Sony TV, old tube style, weighed a ton. She was overjoyed! She had gotten hooked on Guitar Hero, but was using like a 19" TV, so my old 37" was a big improvement for her.
Then D and I went to 5&Diner for breakfast. It's about 2, but I had a strawberry waffle and chocolate milk. D ordered choco milk, too, but the waitress misunderstood his "I'll have a chocolate milk, too!" as "milkshake". He is more lactose-unfriendly than I am, so I ended up eating most of it.
Then Eddie met me over at the Circuit City, and helped me bring home my new TV. I stayed in the Sony family, but upgraded to the Bravia. A lovely 46" HD screen plugged into my PS3. Blurays and video games look FABulous! It was listed as on sale, but when he rang it up, it showed an ADDITIONAL $100 discount! Whuhoo!! That paid for the sales tax!
Eddie invited me to join him and Jody for dinner at the chinese buffet. I said I had dinner plans with a friend at 8, so would not be able to join. Eddie checked out my TV for a while, then about 5:30 headed out. He wanted to get the setup work all done at the bar, so he could enjoy dinner without racing back to work later.
The friend coming over was actually a date. I didn't think I should say that to Eddie (especially since the point came up prior to delivery of the TV), however. The guy's name is George, and I met him through Match. He was late, but is actually not Brazilian. He got here about 7pm. I do have to give points to a Boston (southie, at the moment) resident willing to head out of their utopia. I called Block5, and they could get us in at 9, so we sat at my place and chatted. I popped my sole Bluray (the same "300" I watched at Easter) in for background. Lovely. We got along very well, and the conversation flowed well. I am not good at idle chit-chat, so if I don't like someone, the conversation falls flat very fast.
Dinner was - as always - spectacular. They put lobster in their artichoke dip, and yumm is that good. I had shrimp and scallops, he had salmon. The special that night was a big-ass steak with butternut-bacon mashed potatoes. I did not want the steak, but was seriously contemplating ordering it simply to get those potatoes. That sounds really good, and I would have loved to try some. We also each had a mojito - I had guava, and he had passionfruit. Mine was better!
We headed back to my place. I asked what he wanted to do. The options were Movie, Video games, Gay bar, Gay club. He was (sarcastically) surprised we had both a bar and a club. Didn't feel so much like going to the bar, though, after I described the usual clientèle. The club he wasn't jumping to go to either, possibly because I said I work there, so everybody knows me. I would have tried to talk him out of going there for that reason, had he wanted to go. So, we watched a movie. Settled on "A Knight's Tale" which I have on plain old boring DVD. I was surprised how great it looked, though. All that fancy equipment makes even no-def DVD look good!
He dozed off a couple times during the movie, so I had to explain just a couple minor details at the end to make the final scene make sense. He made a comment about not looking forward to the drive home. Perfect chance to slip in the offer to sleep here, and drive back after some restful sleep. Heeheee. We went to bed.
I put my arm on him, but he held tightly to himself, so I pulled my arm back. He then followed by putting his arm around me. So, we slept cuddled. He started coughing at one point, and said he was too warm, so I rolled away from him. After the coughing subsided, he put his arm around me again. (He had caught a cold earlier in the week, and was doing well, but still not 100%.) At one point - I'll guess 5:30 - we were in a spooning position, with him in front. I was - uhhh - turned on. Had been most of the night. It's been a while... I was not sure if he was noticing or not, but this time he rolled toward me a little and grabbed my arm, pulling it into his crotch. He was excited to be there, too! I rolled him a little more, so we were facing, and went to kiss him. He pulled back, saying he didn't want me to catch his cold. I'm figuring it's not contagious anymore, plus I have a tendency to like catching colds so I can grab a cheap day off of work! I didn't tell him my sick-day preferences, though. It would have sounded a little manipulative. It's not meant to be underhanded, I just don't really Care. The response I did give him was to kiss him again. He understood well enough to kiss back. We quickly abandoned the modest sleepwear, and had some fun. A good hour passed, and then we went back to sleep. At 8am the alarm went off (he needed to be back in Boston at a reasonable hour). We looked at each other, shut off the alarm, and spent the next half hour finishing up what had started earlier in the morning.
I let him take a quick shower, then he headed to Boston. I went back upstairs, and laid on the couch. Fell asleep. Woke up to the phone ringing. It was Ronny calling to say he was done with work, and could meet up for IHOP. It was 12:15. The banana-stuffed french toast is back, for a limited time, and that is his absolute favorite, so we went to IHOP. Brad called to ask if we'd go to see the 3:30 showing of Iron Man. So we met up with Brad, Cris, Junior, Rick, Joe, Jen at the theater. I liked the movie. Surprising little action; lots of engineering scenes. Brad and Cris had brought Junior with them, Brad had been trying to "fix" Junior's computer. Brad lives like 3 blocks from the theater, and wanted to mow his lawn yet, so I offered to drive Junior home. Ronny and I stopped in, and I looked at the computer. Ended up that the neighbor who was letting him sign in to the wireless router, had turned it off, so he was internet-less. Simple problem, simple solution, once you knew where to look. (Brad had left notes on all these DOS prompt things he was nosing around with - I just checked wireless connections, and went from there.) I was sitting there while he pulled some pics up from back home. All of a sudden he turns to me and says "I love you". Uhhhhhhh. I started to get an uncomfortable look on my face. I know he responds best to jealousy, but I was not expecting that hearing I hooked up the night before would have quite THAT effect. He saw the look spreading across my face, and quickly added "...for fixing my internet!" Ohhhh. That makes more sense.
Cristiano came home, and made dinner. It was basically italian sausage and bacon over pasta. I think the sauce was simply garlic, tomato, and onion chopped into the bacon grease. It was very tasty, though a little heavy. Ronny commented on all the bacon he'd eaten that day. There was also passionfruit mousse in the fridge, so we had some of that, too.
I called Will when I got home. He was doing well, and ordered some noodles while I was talking with him. I asked if he'd be interested in meeting up the week of the 4th of July. I have that whole week off, and miss him terribly. We had been very flirty that last time we had spoken, and it seemed he would have been up for meeting. But he ended up putting together a list of reasons not to. Topped it off with a reason to Never meet up... Some have suggested that he may be my "one", but he always freaks out whenever I suggest seeing each other. Who knows...

Honoring Jesus
Friday night I worked again. Another slow night. Better tips, though, so at least the people that did come in were not AS cheap. I did not see many come in that I was particularly interested in, myself.
At one point, this drunk chick came up and asked me to hold her drink. I wouldn't. I also noticed she had no wristband. Her story morphed from she had no idea, to I didn't give her one, to some "black-haired guy" was at the desk when she came in. She also insisted she came in at 9:38 exactly. I said no she didn't. I had noted much earlier in the evening that the first paying customer walked in the door at 10:15. I would have noticed her coming in at 9:38. So, I checked her ID and asked for $5 cover. She said she spent all her money on drinks, and didn't have $5. I just gave her a wristband. She asked if I was single. I said yes. She asked if I was "really" single, or just single "right now". I said I was "really really single". She claims to have a friend (Mike) who is tall dark and handsome (Armenian, model, the whole thing), likes me, and is too shy to say so. I do not know where this person was, because she left with a group of girls. No guy in sight, much less a hot one. We'll see if she ever shows up again, or if this model friend shows up.
The cop who is stationed up front by the door all night, is completely straight, and seems somewhat uncomfortable the entire evening (needs those fun gel inserts from Dr Scholls I guess), turned to me after drunk chick walked away and said, "So, you got a date tonight!" Yeah, right... If only.
The hot Brazilian that gave me the "ewwww troll" look was there again. Same friend was with him, so I'm guessing they are together. They act somewhere between the line of friends and boyfriends, so I'm not completely sure. The friend was nice, and smiling, so on their way out at the end of the night, I tossed out a "Boa Noite!" Then I went on to getting the coat for the next person. "Boa noite" means good night, so I was expecting that to be the end of it, but they were still standing in the door, and the friend said "boa noite" back. OK, I said goodnight, they said it back, I kept doin' my thing. They still stayed in the doorway, and he called out again, "Boa noite". I thought it was odd, but realized they were waiting for a reply, so I said "Tchau". Sounds and means the same as the Italian "Ciao", so when you say it to people, they all understand. That seemed to satisfy them, so they left.
Saturday morning I went to the grocery store to get supplies to finish out my cherry cheesecake, and make a lasagna. The store was insanely busy. But I got everything I needed. Went home and made puffs. The pastry shells like cream puffs or eclairs are made with. They are really easy, but my oven decided that today was not my day to make puffs. I checked on them 10 minutes EARLY, and they were all black and billowing smoke. Nice! So, I shut off the oven, plugged the vent, opened the window, and headed back to the grocery store. Picked up two ready crusts and some cherry pie filling. My original idea was not working, so a quick Plan B had to suffice. Luckily the store was not quite as insanely busy. Finished off the cheesecakes, and headed to a party.
I also got a text from Leonardo on Saturday. It was one of those annoying chain messages that used to be a popular email thing. Something about how wonderful friendship is, and if you are a "true friend" then you'll bounce the message back to the sender. As the cellphone company collects lots of fees... I was about to delete and forget, when I decided to write back: "But you were the one who pushed me away". I did not hear back.
The party was fun. We played Balderdash. I was one point behind the winner, and I gave him the point by voting for his entry. Dammit!!! Brad and Cris were there. Cris asked if I was going to the club to dance. I said yes. Brad went home to sleep (or WoW). Met up with a couple friends there, and danced my little heart out. Junior was there, as well, in a cute Captain America shirt. I had him show Daemian, who FLIPPED out. But mostly, I didn't pay any attention to Junior, so he kept grabbing me to dance with him. Soooooo predictable. But at the end of the evening, he was making out with some skanky ugly Brazilian guy. Yes, there are actually Brazilians I find less than attractive... Mr "ewwwww troll" was there again, with same friend/BF. Cris introduced us (I already knew his name, and he recognized me) so I guess I entered the realm of tolerable humans. He was even willing to converse with me! He was also surprised (?) that I know a little Portuguese.
The straight twin dancer was working again that night, too. I got a little chat time in with him, and even managed to slip TWO you-should-come-over-sometime comments into the conversation without sounding creepy!! One related to the awful manner in which he "dances". I offered to help!
The guy that was there two weeks ago and got Cris's and my phone numbers came as well. He had actually texted me earlier to see if I'd be there. I imagine Cris got a similar message. His name is Chris. (WITH an 'h' - easy to keep track!) He danced with us all night, and tried introducing us to his friends. They kind of didn't want to join in, stayed on the side, stood around drinking. I am guessing that is why Chris wanted to join our group, because he was a dancing maniac. Fit right in with Cris and me.
Leonardo was there, too. He was also with some friend who may or may not have been a BF. Hard to tell from their interaction, especially since I was making a point of not watching closely, for fear of having it look like I was pining. I did smile and say hello. He reciprocated. No comment about the text...
Sunday I picked up Daemian, then made the lasagna. I had mentioned I usually make cheese lasagna, and he said he likes meat ones, so I had picked up a little ground beef and italian sausage to add in. Ronny came over, as well. There was a little too much meat, so the lasagna was not saucy, but I don't like saucy, and it tasted great. Ronny said the cheesecake was the best one he had EVER had. We made a comment about watching a movie, and someone mentioned "The Passion" in an "It IS Easter" reference. So, I pulled out my South Park DVD of "The Passion of the Jew" - the episode where they all see Mel's movie, Cartman starts up the 'final solution' while Kyle organizes a mass apology, and Stan and Kenny go to Malibu to get their admission money back from Mel directly and find out he's cuckoo. The disc also includes child molestation episode where Father Maxie tried to convince the Vatican to ban molesting boys, while Cartman gets the whole world to start shoving food up their ass and poo'ing out their mouths (includes an hysterical scene of Martha Stewart taking a Thanksgiving Turkey!). Finally, it has the episode where Cartman starts a Christian rock band to win a bet against Kyle (for $10) to see who can earn a Platinum Album the fastest, while Kyle and Stan go on strike to protest illegal downloading. Not particularly kind to Catholics or Christians in general. We followed that up with the Warner Bros Studios mass market release of gay softcore porn: 300. Talk about sins of the flesh!! Of course, the graphic novel (no, I haven't read it) that the movie is based upon depicts them all naked. I'm guessing that was a little TOO softcore for the producers to deal with, so we ended up with leather speedos.
Then I get a text from my Girl Gone Green friend: "We're drinking beer and playing pool in honor of Jesus!" That was funny! Tip your glass and offer a cheer to the big J-C!

Superduper
Friday night I worked. Decent night. Not obscenely busy, but enough of a crowd to keep me awake. Moderate tips. No fights. Ronny and Junior came in. Ronny was huggy, as usual. Junior was affectionate, too. Even called me "Love" as they were leaving.
Leonardo came in, as well. He apologized for never calling back this past week. Then said something about his plans for the upcoming weekend, and how he wanted to see me again. He mentioned he had a baby shower to go to that ended at 5, and he'd call after that. I do not know which day he said that was.
Went home as quickly as possible, because I had to get up early and go to my crappy day job in the morning. Issues and drama. The women that work there are always at each others' throats. And it drives me nuts. After getting the hell out of there, I came home, pulled my ingredients list for pumpkin cheesecake (I had gotten a specific request), and ran to the store. Made the cheesecake (actually, two), and met up with Russell for dinner.
He's in the midst of major domestic issues. Let's just say when 911 calls, restraining orders, and eviction notices enter a relationship, it's destined for failure... My heart goes out to him. Even as I say "I told you so"! I really do just hope he makes it out of this without her doing something stupid to ruin his future.
Saturday night I went to the club, had some Valentines candy, complements of the bartenders. A little Stoli ras, too. Then I saw Adam. He dragged me onto the dance floor. We had a good time. He was being rather flirty. I pointed out that I am a bottom. He said no problem, he's versatile. Danger alert - last weekend he claimed to be a big ol' bottom. This may end dramatically. But it was fun to dance with him. He does smoke, too, which is a drawback. Heading back in, I saw Junior. I went up to say hello. He pulled me close, put his arm around me, and gave me a kiss. Then mentioned that he had seen me dancing before. In other words, he saw me with Adam, and got jealous. Why can't he just act on it, already!
Leo didn't call on Saturday.
Sunday I met up with Brad and Cris, Nish and Mark for brunch at Block5. Fabulous! We had the cute waiter I like, again. (His name is Jeremy! Imagine that!) They all wanted me to leave my number for him. I didn't have a pen. And I doubt he's gay. Because things like that don't happen in my world. Well, there was the cruise director, the army captain, and the missed opportunity with the gymnast, but generally speaking...
The 'party' that I made the cheesecake for never ended up happening, so I just brought one over to Daemian's house for him to enjoy. I told him to call Miss Kitty to see if she wanted the other one. He went to the club that night. He was asked to come in to help "carry the drag-queen". I went home and went to sleep.
Leo didn't call on Sunday.
Sunday night I had a fun little dream. It was in "Smallville". Clark Kent (it actually was Tom Welling in my dream, but he was actually Superman, so that's why I say it was in Smallville) had a big party at his house. I was there. Having fun. Met this guy Kevin. Really cute. (Imagine Kevin Bacon and Ryan Phillipe had a son who was now modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch.) Next thing I know, I am in Clark's room, with Kevin, AND Clark. And we start making out. And then clothes come off. And we start doing preliminary stuff. Rubbing and licking and sucking and kissing. Three-way kissing is always fun. Even if it's just my imagination... Then things start heading a little south, but just more licking and sucking and fingering at this point. All of a sudden, Clark flips out. See, he and Kevin used to be dating, and then broke up. So, there was tension there to begin with. But apparently Superman does not do anal before marriage, and he started getting nervous when he felt a finger up there. Which he referred to as "Vienna". (Gay History Lesson: before the S&M terms of top and bottom came into popular use, the predominate terms used were french active/passive (oral) and greek active/passive (anal).) So, apparently in my dream world where Superman is gay, he feels the Austrians were into fingering! The next bit of drama is a little hazy, but next thing I know, I'm sitting there consoling Clark, trying to convince him that I thought he was hot, too, and that I wasn't just into Kevin. Imagine Superman having self-esteem issues. Drama!! That of course killed the mood, so I went to get dressed (Clark was already dressed - he could manage that pretty quickly) and couldn't find my clothes. The dream then turned into a standard embarrassment dream where I'm wandering around what appeared to be a Macy's (Superman had a HUGE walk-in closet back in Kansas!) naked, looking for my clothes.
Then I woke up and had to go to work again. Because I didn't win the lotto this week.

Winter Excursion - getting home
We got hit by a snowstorm today. Fast and furious snowfall. It started right about noon, and by 4pm, there was a thick blanket over my car. Spent a few minutes cleaning it off, then headed home. For those of you who don't recall, I live a full one and a half miles from work. It normally takes me 8 minutes to get home. I can got TO work in 4 or 5 depending on stop lights, but the traffic is heavier in the afternoon. Today it took me an HOUR to get home. Yes, folks, a full hour. Now, mind you, I did pull over for a few minutes to give some poor schlub a jump. We were not moving very fast, anyway, so I figured why not.
Tonight I would have gone to the gym, and stopped at the Kinko's/FedEx across the street to send out the Christmas gifts to my parents' house (so I don't have to lug it on the airplane, or have it get lost in baggage for three days) and to my sister's house (she won't make it by my parents this year). That's just over four miles away. So, three hours there, and three hours back... just not worth it.
Last night I stopped at Target and discovered some new chocolate. Kisses come in Mint Truffle and Hot Cocoa now, and Hershey's Miniatures have a mint lover collection. I haven't gotten to the Truffle Kisses yet, but the other two are yummy. I also picked up some burgundy Queen Anne's chocolate covered cherries. If you have never tried them, I highly recommend them (for those who like choc-cov cherries to begin with). The burgundy is like a hint of almond extract to them, and Ooooohhhh grrrrl, are they delicious!
So, instead of exercising at the gym tonight, I will most likely end up pigging out on chocolate! Christmas is coming!!
