This past weekend was my first on my new schedule at the club. Friday night I work, but Saturday I have off. Sadly, I had to go to my dayjob on Saturday morning.
Friday night was fairly slow. There was one of the cute Brazilians that showed up, but he had a new 'zilian with him. REALLY attractive! His name was Joaquin, which seems very non-Brazilian, but whatever. I took as much opportunity to peek around the corner to check him out. Sadly, I soon saw them kissing each other. Well, here's to hoping they get into 3-ways...
Saturday I ended up at the club. Danced with Cris and Junior. I was also drinking. John showed up that night, as well. He is apparently seeing someone now. Twinky little blonde boy about 18 years old. I guess I am WAY too old to be John's type.
I headed to the back area of the club at one point, and saw Cris catching some cool air by the smoking patio. I put an arm around him, and he put one around me. I leaned in and said "Eu gosto demais de voce" (I like you too much). He said "Eu tambem" (Me too) and gave me a hug. That may go nowhere, or it may cause problems.
I got a little bit too drunk as the night progressed. I ended up chipping my front tooth at some point. It's not bad enough to be noticeable, but I can feel the rough edge against my tongue, and it is driving me NUTS!

Wonderful Dream
It has been a while since I've subjected you to a retelling of a dream I had, so I will recount last night's. It was a sex dream. And it was a good one! For me, anyway!!
It was set in a house with a group of roommates. Think Real World or Surreal Life. One of the roommates was (in dream-world) Flava Flav's son. I did not get a name. And, no, I have NO idea if he has children (I would assume, tho) or how old they would be, or any such real info. But it was a dream, OK.
Someone decided that we should all go to a movie. I ended up in FF's room, as he was getting ready. Hot little black guy, with an absolutely adorable face. (I'm guessing the mother was way better lookin' than the dad!) As the son of a famous rapper-type, he was saddled with the expectation to be straight. We were talking, and he got very close, however. I jokingly said, "What, are you gonna kiss me?" And he did. Sweet little peck on the lips. Then he looked all embarrassed. Blabbered on about something for a while. Then got that "oh what the hell" look and grabbed me. Pulled me in tight, and kissed me again. This one started closed, but soon opened. Then turned into full-on making out. (The heat coming off the small of his back was really enticing!) Soon we were on the floor, and clothes were being tossed to the side. As his 'first time' I figured we'd start him off as a French-passive. (it's an old term meaning getting a blow job) He was into that, and I was into that. And he tasted good! Lot of chocolate to work with, too, of course. (It IS a dream, remember!) I was enjoying it so much that I erupted quite forcefully. Think Vesuvius vs. Pompeii. He (being rather nervous and all) came a little less dramatically, but fell into my arms and kissed me some more.
After some snuggling, which kinda just smears the mess around, I checked around on the floor to see how bad of a mess I made on the carpet. Nothing. I was shocked! Then I noticed the ceiling was Sprayed! I have been known to fire good distances, but 10 feet is a bit unrealistic... (Side note - if you've seen Something About Mary, I have done that, and you can HEAR it hit your ear, and FEEL it sticking to the side, so that scene was VERY implausible! Yes, I know it was meant to be...) We did a little wiping, and then he fell back against the dresser. He was just so irresistible that I had to go in and kiss him some more. He kissed right back!
Then he got that "what does this Mean?" look on his face, and pondered aloud if he could handle having a boyfriend. I asked if he meant he wanted one. This caused an "oh my God" expression, and he asked if I would be at all interested in dating him. I said Yes! Then grabbed him and started making out some more.
That was how I woke up this morning. He was just so damn cute, it was a shame I'll never see him again! :)

Bad News
I got my bill today for internet service from the cable company. Back in August, I got a bill for two months that said I was PAST DUE for August. Now, I NEVER miss paying a bill, so I could not believe this to be true, but was unable to prove otherwise. So, I sent in two month's worth. In September, I never got a bill at all. This was strange, so I pulled up the account, and it said I had $0 balance, and was paid until November. I assumed this meant the morons found the July payment they thought I missed, so doubling up in August put me a month ahead. Today's bill again says I am PAST DUE. I do now know if they f^'ed up September or both or everything, or what the bloody hell is going on. I will just send in a double payment, and let it go. Next month I am going to send them money, whether they ask for it not!
Other bad news today, the hottie at work, referred previously as "O" has gone to boot camp. Army. It's kinda sad... I hope he comes back alive.

Hallowen Bash
The other day I mentioned to my WoW friend Daemian that I was going to work as Janet from Rocky Horror, and he said he'd Love to See That! Ended up with him buying a bus ticket!
Friday night he showed up - late because of bus breakdowns - and we went to a Halloween party at my friend Brad's house. We had a great time, and Daemian had the rapt attention of several fellow party-goers. We stopped in for a few moments at the club, and he got a quick intro. Then we went back to my place and chatted, looked at pictures, watched "Another Gay Movie" - it just is such a good movie! Watch it! If you've already seen it, watch it again!
Saturday we went shopping. I still needed a pink dress, and was having no luck. The best I found was a fuchsia number at Express. Luckily, one of the club regulars works there (surprise) and helped me out. Sadly, a size 12 did not button over my ribcage, and that was their largest size. Express does not carry anything in 14! Ended up at Marshall's. I'd been there before, but tried it again. And there it was! A stretchy pink 14 collared dress! On sale! I had a "Maxx Moment"!
That evening we went to a fabulous little restaurant in town (Block5) and had a great meal. More importantly, the wait staff was hot, and flirty! For a moment we were expecting to get our meal comped!
Headed to the club, and got ready. The evening was a lot of fun. I got to kiss a hot half-naked Superman! Flirted with a number of cuties. As I walked to the bathroom at one point, Junior stopped me. He got rather grabby. I asked if it was the titties (or "bobos") that he liked. He's like "Oh yeah, you want me to fuck you?!" and grabbed me, started humpin on me. I, of course, was like "Oh Yeah! I've been Waiting for you to say that!!" Very thrilling, but oddly unexpected. I was in the "Sweet Transvestite" performance, as well as the "Time Warp". Heading to the stage, I got molestered by Junior again. Daemian had a blast, as well, and snapped a few pictures. So, here's one of me. Click it for the full-size.

Secret Coincidence
BACKGROUND:
They want me to be Janet from Rocky Horror this Saturday at the club. I had asked Mimi (drag queen) for hair and makeup assistance, and she said sure! I said I hadn't done drag since college, she wanted to see pics. I brought them in last Saturday, but she was not in, so I have them in my car waiting until I see her again. Last Sunday I found a cardigan, shoes, and a purse, but no luck with the pink dress. Wednesday I mapped out what I all need to get done on what day this week. That night included dress shopping, again to no avail. Thursday's plan includes hair removal.
MORE BACKGROUND:
About 12/15 years ago, the company I work for hired a Charles in the Quality department, who left the company as a Charlene. Surgically. There is still a harassment suit working it's way through the courts.
FUNNY STORY:
Today I was talking about work related stuff with the engineer I kinda have a thing for and the sales guy who is a body-builder. Eventually, they mentioned that the production supervisor has a brother, Ray, who used to work there years ago on a particular machine. The engineer slipped in a "or Rachel" after the name was uttered. I required explanation. Apparently, one day shortly after Halloween about 25 years ago, Ray came to work with Halloween party pictures, including himself in drag. He was quite proud of it and showed it to everyone, and kept a copy in his toolbox at work. He was married, with kids, and the wife even helped him shave and do the makeup. Ray would mention how much he enjoyed it, liked the panties, and the hosiery, etc. Shortly after that, he stopped working there (I'm not clear on those details) and began living life in women's clothes full time.
As the two were telling the story, they would interject comments about how mind-boggling the whole thing is, they felt bad for the kids, the wife, the brother (who still works there). It was "f@#%^'ed up" and "stupid". One of them looked at me and said "beware of Halloween parties!" It was all I could do to keep myself from running to the car and getting my drag pictures or telling them what I'm in the middle of preparing for this weekend!! I kept my face expressioned in a way that the smirks looked like pitying commentary, rather than suppressed giggles!

Flirt
Last weekend started out promising, but again, went nowhere.
Friday evening I got a phone call from an unknown number. That number had called twice before throughout the week, so I was thinking it might not be a telemarketer. I still didn't answer, though. They had not left a message, so I was still skeptical. As soon as the call ended, they called back again. At that point, I decided to answer. I was greeted by a Brazilian voice. I asked who it was, and he said, "You don't remember me?" This threw me off. The only Brazilian I had spoken to on the phone but wouldn't 'remember' was Brazilian Bottom Boy (Whom I had called asking to meet up some time so he could return my jacket). It was Mr. I'll-call-you-tomorrow, though! Marcelo apparently has a thing against leaving messages. He was still at work, and had to work in the morning, so we couldn't meet up that night. I called Monday, and he said he worked until 9, but would call me after to meet up for a little bit, but - true to form - he did not call.
Friday night at the club was really really dead. The plus side is that it gives me more time to talk to customers coming in. One - whose name I did not catch, so we'll call James - was rather cute, and seemed interested, but stayed at the bar the whole time, so I didn't get a chance to move beyond the greeting flirtiness. Then there was Rob - military guy, kinda attractive but not doin' it for me. He was noticeably interested, and was touchy-feely and flirty all night. Until 1am, that is. He left. There was also Jose. He was staring at me with a big goofy grin, but I got the impression he was behaving that way more because he was high than because he was interested.
Luther showed up as well, by himself. I took the opportunity to make an obvious pass. He was being flirty as well (he shook his ass at me, so I grabbed it), but made the usual comment about not gonna work. I said I'd be happy with just some good making out. He made an appreciative comment, but might have gotten scared off. He left early, saying he would be back later, just had to check in with Keniah, but he never did. Well, they did show up together on Saturday. So I said, "Oh, well, you said you'd come back!" I imagine he caught the accusation buried in there.
Then there was Tom. I've seen him a few times. Great body, cute face, dorky glasses, and very timid personality. He stopped by to drop off his shirt at the coat check. It was quite warm out this weekend, so I wasn't running an actual coat check, so I said I'd take the shirt, but he didn't have to pay. He asked if I was sure about that. I said he could kiss me instead if it would make him feel better. So, he gave me a nice kiss, put a dollar on the counter, and said he'd give me both. I mentioned it to one of the other staff that night (don't remember who) and they said something to the effect of "Oh, that's So-and-So's boyfriend." Dammit. When he left, he was with his friends, and/or boyfriend, so I didn't get another kiss, but I did get another dollar when he took the shirt back.
Saturday, "James" was back. Did the same thing. Gave me looks that implied he is interested. So, as he came in, I chatted briefly. He started walking inside, so I said I hoped he be back later, and he said "Oh definitely!" He stayed at the bar until he left (at like 12). Other than that, there was a definite lack of options on Saturday, even though it was Much busier.
I was over at Ronny's house this weekend to help him fix his computer again. (I'm not that competent of an IT guy, but with my friends, I can apparently figure out more than they can. Kind of like how often I've helped wire up stereo equipment.) I brought my camera along, and dumped the farewell party photos onto Junior's computer, and copied over his photos from the Six Flags trip. There were not a lot of good pictures. Partly the camera isn't that great, and I think Ronny actually has a better eye for photos than Junior. The best one of the trip, (Yea, surprise, surprise) I'd say, is this one of Junior.

Conspiracy Theory
Illegal immigration has been in the news a lot, lately. Besides the "fence" discussion, there has been a crackdown on the employers who don't check social security numbers properly. The idea is to reduce immigration by making the jobs less desirable.
I was talking with my Brazilian friends the other day, and they commented on how much more money they are spending on housing payments back home now that the dollar is tanking. The 'real' used to be worth about a third of a dollar, now it's about half. A Brazilian making 9R/hour in Sao Paulo might not be able to afford a mortgage payment, even though it's about 50,000R for a nice place. But at $9/hour in the US, they are making an equivalent to 27R/hour, and can send that money to pay off the mortgage pretty quickly. Now that those $9 are more like 18R, it's a little harder.
My first thought was that the Brazilians would not want to be here any more if the exchange rate gets worse, and they'd be better off just getting a job back home. Then it hit me. This is the PLAN. The government is purposely allowing the dollar to slide because that will discourage immigrants from coming here!

Try try again
Friday night I was training a new hire on running the front door. This will allow me to cut back on hours and spend more time with my friends, in theory. They continue to complain that I shouldn’t work because I can’t hang out with them. Once I stop working, however, they will probably not be doing anything anyway. But training with Danielle was not as encouraging as I had hoped. I had been told that she had club front door experience. That was incorrect. She cashiers at a Spencer Gifts. She was quite slow. I had to focus so much attention on her, that it was actually harder to be flirty than when I am by myself. The tight little black kid mentioned a week or two ago, radiating heat, came in again, by himself again. He was not on anything, and did not even seem to remember me. Oh, well. The dancer from two weekends ago was there, too. He was chatting with me quite a bit, again. As I steered the conversation toward hangin’ out, having a drink after closing, he mentioned he lives with his girlfriend of four years. After close, he collected his pay, said goodnight, and headed home. The straight girl with the cute guy along showed up, as well, with that same guy. She made a comment about how I should have remembered he had a military ID (too much going on), so I said, "Oooo, military - Hot!" The guy replied "Don't ask don't tell!" Stop teasing me!!!
Saturday morning I had to go to work for a little while at my day job. Then met up with some friends and headed down to a little amusement park in Connecticut that hosts a big haunted house. It was a lot of fun. I reflexively jump when startled, which my brother took glee in abusing when growing up, but I don’t get scared. One of the friends I was with has a clown phobia, so didn’t enjoy that part very much, but the rest of enjoyed her reactions. I got back shortly after 1am, so decided to head to the club for a bit (Ronny had called a couple times to get me to join them) rather than just head home. When I walked in, Security guy mentioned that John was there and had asked for me. I said hello to a bunch of people, then went over to chat with John. Ronny interrupted me to introduce me to his friend Luis (Puerto Rican, yes I was interested). The first words out of Luis’s mouth were that he is straight. That’s nice… I told Ronny I was trying to talk to “that guy over there” so he let me go back to John. Shortly before close, John’s friend said he was heading out, so John said he was, too. He said goodnight and started leaving. I asked if I was ever going to get to spend time with him beyond hello and goodbye at the club, and he replied that he’s married, and walked out the door. I immediately went to Security guy to ask what that meant, and he had no clue. He said John broke up with his ex a while ago and is single, as far as he knows.
Sunday morning I talked to Ronny. Luis went back to Ronny’s place for a little while that night, and they made out. Luis’s first time ever kissing a guy. Ronny mentioned that he is actually Luis’s boss, and I described how that could (possibly) cause problems, and Ronny could (possibly) get fired if it ended in a harassment charge. Ronny asked if I did anything with John, so I told him the story. Ronny said he doesn’t understand why I am having such bad luck getting anyone to be interested, then offered to get back together so I don’t have to be alone. Sweet, but he knows I don’t want to. That evening was another show, so I headed back to the club to work again. The hunky 19yo Puerto Rican kid I see often was there, with some family, to see the show. At a point when I could catch him by himself, I told him I thought he was very attractive. He (Steven) became a bit more engaging, but didn’t seem too eager to pursue anything. The show wrapped up about just before 9:30, and he headed for the door. He did tell me that he would be back later. Around 10 I was done, and ended up staying for a while and having a drink. The staff is apparently dressing as Rocky Horror characters for the Halloween party (10-27) night, and they decided to assign me the role of Janet. Mimi (aka Alex) offered to help with hair and makeup. Around 11:30 I figured I should head home, and Steven came back. I said hello, he said hi, and then kept walking. I waited a minute, then followed to the dance floor area. He was dancing with a couple people, one of whom was his mother. I had not noticed that she had stayed after the show ended. I assume he would be a little uncomfortable with anything happening with his mother around, so I figured I would let it slide for now. Next weekend, I better get a kiss, though!

Take Home
Flipping channels this morning, I stumbled upon Andrew Dan Jumbo again. You may recall my previous mentioning of this hottie carpenter. His current show is called Take Home Handyman, and the concept of the show is ADJ cruising the Home Depot for someone who wants to take him home with them. Sadly, they just do carpentry projects when they get there. But I would GLADLY volunteer to take him home!!

Quiet
Friday night at the club was a decently busy evening, but not much headed my way. The best moment was this straight couple that came in. I asked if they'd been there before. That's usually what I ask if I see possible "oops wrong place" people coming in. She said Oh yea, she'd been there before. Then she asked why I asked. I explained that it helps catch those who are unaware it's a gay club. She laughed and said she was worried I wasn't going to let her in again. I told her that if she keeps bringing cute guys with her (the BF was really cute!) that we would be glad to let her in! He laughed and said he was her good luck charm. She said maybe she was his! Then they went in. Later, the DJ's boyfriend was chatting with me, and I mentioned the cutest guy I saw come in was straight. He said the cutest one was this guy in white shirt and jeans over by the pool table. Guess what. Same guy! At the end of the night, as everyone was leaving, the girl paused to say that He thought I was cute, too. The guy blushed a little and said, "well, yeah." And then they ran out the door... I think I managed to blurt out a thank you, but was largely shell shocked. Fate continues to tease me!
Saturday, the security guy said his friend John was coming in, with a good wink-wink nudge-nudge look on his face. John did come in, made a quip about breakfast, and then spent the entire night standing back by the dance floor. He kind of flashed me a shrug and got swept out the door by the crowd at close. Dammit. I asked security guy to check if John would mind if he gave me John's number. This is too much work!
I spent Sunday with Ronny and Junior. Junior seemed less awkward than he has been, but still reserved. Sunday night I dreamed that I drove to Luis's birthday party with Junior. (Luis had invited me, but I don't think I'm going to be able to go. And it's a little too far to actually drive.)
Tonight I'm heading over by Junior to download the party pictures from last weekend onto his computer, and copy over his pics from our Six Flags trip. Tease of fate...

You're Still Here!
There are a couple cuties at work, all Hispanic, of course. One of them (we'll call "O") is about 20, looks like a black/latino blend, and is quite yummy. Always wears tight little wife-beaters underneath big, baggy T-shirts, and I am always wishing the baggy one (well, OK, both, but realistically, the baggy one) would come off. Thursday it did! Feelin' the Vapors! I had to remind myself not to stare. And today O was wearing his Rimstars shirt again. I guess it's a basketball term, but always brings something else to mind. If he is a star at it, it must feel REAL good!
Friday night I was at work again. John did not come in. This tight little black kid (24yo, I think) whom I have had my eye on came in, a little flushed. He claims to have already been drinking, but when I put on the wristband, he was noticeably warm. That does not seem like a common effect of light drinking. It may have had a pharmacological source, but I said he must have been dancing already. He said no, but he wanted to dance, and that it would be better if I joined him. I gave an appreciative smile, and said maybe later. He left early, and I didn’t notice when. Dammit! Marcelo was there, as well (Mister I’ll-call-you-tomorrow). As everyone was heading out at the end of the night, he stopped to say he was surprised I was still here. I asked what he meant. He thought I’d be in California. I again replied, “What?!?” His ‘friend’ told him I’d be in California. He motioned to the dance floor, which still contained Cris. I said I had plans to eventually move there, but it wasn’t happening any time soon. Marcelo claimed he didn’t call me because he thought I was leaving for California immediately, but he would call now that he knows I’m still around. I said I’d believe him when he actually called. He said he Promised he would call ‘tomorrow’. As of today (Monday), still no call. The thought crossed my mind that the sudden switch to just-friends from Junior may have had the same source. It would make sense that Ronny would bring the moving-west story up, since it factored in our split (to a degree that depends on who tells the story). I don’t Think he would purposely sabotage an attempt of mine, but he could easily have wandered into that topic during general discussion.
Then on Saturday, I asked the security guy if he’d spoken with John this past week. Apparently, Avalon in Boston closed on Saturday. I am not sure if it is a temporary/remodeling close, or a permanently shuttered close. But since it was the last night, ever, and Saturday was gay night, it was a big draw. We were unusually slow that night, which may or may not have been related. John was one of the revelers in Boston that night. I told sec-guy to remind John next time they speak that he still owes me breakfast! There was also a dancer brought in on Saturday. Very attractive, and he even spoke with me. I do not know if it was just the habit of a tip-earning worker, or if he was actually interested, but I flirted somewhat mildly. In retrospect, I may have been too timid. He went out of his way to tell me he was nervous about going back to his car after closing. Three times. I thought about offering to escort him, but the annoying voice of doubt that always gets in the way convinced me he would say “Oh no, no. That’s OK, I’ll be fine” anyway. So, I didn’t say anything. Afterwards, the rational side of my brain reprimanded the moron side of my brain for creating a guaranteed No in the name of avoiding a possible No. One of the things I need to work on! Losing 5 pounds is another. Dancer was in great shape, and wouldn’t want a fattie!
Sunday I planned to go to the gym (lose 5 pounds!). When I got up, there was a message from Ronny asking if I wanted to go to IHOP. It was now noon; he had called around 10:30. I called back, and he had already eaten. He then asked if I was going to Andre’s farewell party. (I think I wrote before about another Brazilian that mentioned in the same conversation that he is leaving the country, and would be interested in me if he were single. That’s Andre.) It had slipped my mind, but I did want to go. So, I skipped the gym to spend the day grazing on grilled meats and fatty side dishes (I’ve never met a Brazilian who cared about fat content). It did strike me as a perfect opportunity to bring my camera. I let Ronny use it. He was happy to be taking pictures all day (Cris was probably jealous), and I got some nice pics of most of the regulars in my blog tales. He snapped about 160 pictures. Sadly, Carlos was not there, and still no sign of Mateus.
But to start with, as requested, here is me. The buzzcut is gettin' shaggy already...

That is Kevin on my left (Junior's ex). And another one of me, this time with Cris on my right.

This one is of Ronny, my ex (on your right), and Andre (his party) on your left

Here is a nice one of Junior - sigh -

There were a couple straight (or bi??) cuties there, known as blue-shirt guy, green-shirt guy, and black-shirt guy. The pic of the blue-shirt guy also includes (L to R) Brad (Cris's BF), Marcio, and another of Junior

After we finished eating (profusely), they cleared the tables off the garage floor and turned up the music, so people started dancing. Rick (Andre's BF) was not up for dancing - and was doing a lot of cleaning up - but Andre dragged him onto the dance floor at one point. The whole crowd - about 90% straight - started applauding. It was one of those moments that makes you feel proud of the progress we've made!

To top it all off, I'll include a little video of the dancing. Blue-shirt guy was trying to hang out with the gay guys all night, and after seeing him on the dance floor, we are expecting him to come out soon! The green-shirt guy almost bumped into me, which would have been fun. And there's a cameo by Cris towards the end. Enjoy!

Long Term
I have been mainly writing about dating foibles. I have completely been remiss on complaining about the morons at my day job. It's just that it gets so repetitive...
Today, the plant manager stopped by, and started talking about the management team has started working on a 5-year strategic plan. (Yea most companies always do that, but it's a new concept here!) Apparently 5 of the 8 members of the "management team" will be retiring in about 5 years, including the president/owner. I was expecting this to be followed up by a comment about where I see myself in 5 years. As much as I was dreading that, he instead said they are doing ROI analyses. Again, something most companies always do. It ended up being an opportunity to share a humorous anecdote. Nothing significant... I am SO glad I work for a company that isn't even aware of how short-sighted it is! (sarcasm)
My AC is still not working right, so I have been calling them to try to schedule an appointment. Fourth attempt was today. They called back to say they tried coming to fix it this afternoon. Good thing they bothered to TELL ME! Morons. They will try again tomorrow. Having mentioned it the day before might help!

Almost got one
Friday not much happened, so we'll skip to Saturday!
The really cute 22-year-old Brazilian (Diego) was there again. He at least smiled at me this time. But everybody there is after him. Everybody. Even Cris was talking about him to me...
Meanwhile, this too young, too queeny, too how-shall-we-say... pale... guy came over and started talking to me. As some of you may know, I have always had cold hands. One of the things about the Brazilians I have been with is that they are little heat engines, and in addition to just liking to hold hands, it has practical benefits!! The A/C seemed a little chilly in the front area last night, so as it slowed down, I had time to hold my hands in my pants pockets. Which apparently warmed them up fairly well. When queeny boy shook my hand, he commented on how warm they were. As he continued to talk to me, I knew he trying to flirt, but since I was SO not interested, I maintained my stony polite face. He eventually said something about how I'm not very flirty, so I gave my I'm-working-here excuse. I don't think he got the point, but he did run out of energy, and wandered off.
The other security guy was talking to me, and for some unknown reason showed me a pic on his camera of a couple of his friends, and only identified one of them. He was kinda cute. John. John was on the security guy's guest list, so I knew when he came in. About 5'5" I think, bald, really muscular, and I'm guessing Italian. White guy, but not as pale as the queeny guy from earlier! I tried to be a little flirty, but I WAS working, and kept getting sidetracked by people who wanted to come in (damn customers). At one point, John headed to the bathroom. When he came back, queeny guy was flirting with him. Oh crap.
But then, fate smiled upon me in a grandly fortuitous manner! John said he was cold because the A/C was so strong. Queeny guy gave him a hug but then mentioned how warm MY hands were, and sent him over to me! So, I first went to shake his hand, but John moved in for me to hold him. So I held him! Then more damn customers showed up, and I lost the moment. A little while later, queeny guy had disappeared, but John was still chatting up front with the security guy. Then the straight guy I've mentioned before showed up. He hadn't been there in a while, and he was in full socialize mode. As usual, mostly talked about the incongruity of him being straight yet at a gay bar. But he was talking with John! A female (friend of his?) was there, too, kind of encouraging the odd straight guy out of his element conversation, which ended up somehow turning to a I'll show you mine if you show me yours, but not really, but it was confusing. Security guy made a quip about it looked like John was gonna hook up with straighty (Seth, actually). I said, "But I want him!" Security guy asked, "Seth?" I said NO - JOHN! By this point John was looking chilled again, so I offered to hold him again. He came over for me to hold. First in that face to face consoling stance, so I kissed him on the neck. Then he turned around, so it was more of a couple-in-public position. I said, as light-heartedly as I could, "What are you doin' tonight?" He got a surprised, but good-surprised look on his face.
Around 1:30 he was talking to security guy, and must have been either discussing their interest in eating, or my interest in John, and John turned to me and asked if I'd be interested in going for breakfast. I said Definitely! Sec-guy asked where we should go. John offered to make breakfast back at his place. This looked promising! But then around 1:45 John said good night and left. I was like "But... what?... I don't... but... what??" Sec-guy said he thinks John didn't want to wait for him to finish work at 2:20. Mind you, he never helps with clean-up afterwards, and always leaves right at 2. I don't have clean-up duties at the front desk, so I cash out at 1:30, and am all ready to leave at 2 as well. Dammit. I didn't even get his phone number. Maybe he'll stop in again next weekend.
Since nothing was gonna happen, I ended up hanging out with the rest of the staff. We actually were there until about 5 am again. But around 2:15 the phone rang. It was straighty looking for an 'after-hours'. Now, I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on the coming to gay bars because it's more friendly. But to call the gay club to ask about an after-hours party is crossing into the "I got SO drunk one night..." territory. Crazy.

Fuchsia!
Have you seen the gay Usher commercial?? It's for Macy's. Usher is wearing a lovely fuchsia outfit, handing out samples of his women's cologne at a Macy's store, when Martha Stewart shows up. They hang out for a while, and he even whips out a "Girl!" I have always had a little crush on Usher (of course), and it is great to see him embrace his inner homo!!

Brady
Stumbled across a cute little article on the Onion website. Poking fun of the videotaped cheating thing, they twisted it to make it more exciting for those of us who were only checking out the guys anyway...

Philadelphia
Friday I went on a quick road trip with Brad and Cris, and Brad’s good friend Rick. Rick is a big fan of the ancient Egyptian art and artifacts, so was quite excited to go to the Tutankhamun exhibit at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. The museum itself is a science museum with big plastic representations of scientific properties that you can “learn” about. The King Tut exhibit is on loan from the Egyptian antiquities office, and has some very stunning items.
We got into town a little after 11pm on Friday. This being my first Friday off from work at the club in almost 3 months, I said I wanted to go clubbing. Cris was quick to join in. Brad was too tired. So, Cris and I went to Shampoo. Philly has a LOT of one-way streets in the downtown area, so getting close to where you want to be doesn’t necessarily help much. We did a lot of driving to narrow in on where we needed to be. Friday night is apparently an ‘ethnic’ night there. The lower level was latino music, and the upper level was very rap/hip-hop. I was one of about 5 total white people in the building. There were definitely a few cuties there, but not as many as you are probably thinking. And despite being fresh-meat, and fairly day-glo in hue, nobody noticed me. Which can be attributed to one of two things: (A) That’s just the way it always is. (B) I was there with Cris, so they assumed the only reason I would be there in the first place is because I was “with” him – since the lack of other whites would imply that they normally only show up on the heels of a partner. Of course, I wasn’t looking too hard for options, myself. Partly because I would not be able to do anything with anyone, and partly because I was harboring fantasies about Cris leaning over and making out with me. But that never happened either. If it were to ever happen, this would be the optimal environment. Zero chance of anyone we know ever finding out. We did a little bump and grind for one song, but that was it. The usual good-night kiss, of course, but “usual” means just that.
After 6 hours of sleep, got up, got ready, the four of us went to Denny’s, then headed to the museum. It was a fun day, and the Tut exhibit was amazing. To look at a bead-inlaid gold necklace that was almost guaranteed to have been worn during the Pharaoh himself during an actual ceremony of some sort, like 3200 years ago, gives you chills. And most of the items were in amazingly good condition. Painted wooden figurines looked like they could have been on the shelf at Home Goods last week; though the skill and detail on these just blow away anything that is made nowadays. On our way driving back home, we stopped at Chili’s, just outside Hartford. The waiter was really cute.
I got home about 10:30, which was a little earlier than anticipated. Cris (slept part of the way home) decided to go out to the club that night. Brad decided to let him go, but turned to me and said he had been upset with Cris for going out the night before. I quickly said that last night was entirely my fault (Cris would not have thought of it if I hadn’t brought it up, and had a map), but Brad was like “well he didn’t have to go”. I would not have gone alone. But Saturday, again having the rare night off from work, I decided to go, as well. Plus, with all the heavy meals I had eaten that day, a little exercise would do me good. Of course, everybody working there got all grouchy that I took the night off, then came in. I tried to explain that I HAD been out of town, but they didn’t really care. Ronny saw someone there he was interested in, so went over, talked, got a number, they went back to his place after close. I still don’t understand why that can never work for me. Anyone I approach is either unavailable, flaky, creeped out, or just wants to be friends. I’m reminded of a line from a Will & Grace episode (celebrity auction) where Jack says to Will, “Stop it, Will! America doesn’t want to think of you as sexual!”
Sunday I sat down and read “Michael Tolliver Lives” by Armistead Maupin. It is billed as a separate novel, but any Tales of the City fan will tell you it’s book seven. Sadly, it feels like an epilogue. And the 9/11 and American Idol references feel anachronistic coming from our favorite 70’s libertines, even though it is set in 2005 or 2006. There are earlier books in the series that made me cry more, but it was definitely a worthwhile book! A friend also forwarded me his new blog address, so I looked that up. It linked to a myspace page for Gregory Keith, who connects to Darryl Stephens. His page says that Noah’s Arc is simply on hiatus while they put together a feature film. I had heard it was cancelled, and was nearly apoplectic, so that is really good news!
Lay to Rest
Saturday was insanely busy at the club. I didn't end up having much breathing time to talk to anyone. But Carlos, Marcelo, and Junior were all there. Junior got drunk, and just went home in a fog (his roommate drove). Marcelo did not call on Saturday, but that night as they were leaving, he Again said he would call "tomorrow". I said, "Promise?" and he said yes and shook my hand. Needless to say, he did not call on Sunday. I did, however, speak with Ronny, who said that while they were all dancing he tried to push Marcelo a little, and Marcelo said that he is into Brazilians, and doesn't want an American. How dare he???? Stay home, then...
Carlos, as Ronny told me as well, was not interested in me - again - but went home with Sebastian, one of Brad's former ex'es. (Brad had gone on about how hot his ex Sebastian was, and when I met him didn't connect who it was at first because I did not find him attractive AT ALL. But you already know how picky I can be!)
Sunday I had to work again. A total cutie showed up. I asked for ID, and out came the green passport. Yup, you guessed it, another Brazilian. He was only 22, but so cute, I had to tell him he was cute. He got that slightly freaked out yet polite look on his face and uttered a slight nervous laugh.
Meanwhile, the DJ on Saturday thought my buzzcut was HOT. He's implied a desire to have sex, as well, but I'm not into him. I need to find someone who likes me that I also like back.
